Ultimately, results will always dictate how happy the fans are. People say "I'd rather not win the league if it means x/y/z"...to me, that's nonsense.

The people who say that would be revelling in the glory as much as any of us, if we won the league, regardless of who guided us there. And the yanks know this too.
I've got nothing against Mourihno as I feel he's very smart the way he acts in the media and the way he creates rivalries out of managers and fans. It's just part of the game and he's using it. He created an US against THEM attitude at Chelsea which was fantastic.

But still, Rafa has the edge over him because I simply think that he's a better manager than Jose. He never had Jose money but still built an highly competitive team.

I'm surprised that so many shrewd and intelligent posters on here seem not to grasp that.

He does it for his team to get under the other managers, players and fans skins and yeah it might not work all the time but his record is very good and we would be foolish not to consider him as the next manager IF/WHEN Rafa leaves.

..........and the back of it all he's very respectful towards clubs and their history etc.....in the quiet moments sure he acts the **** in prees conferences before matches as an act and to play the "game"

When has Rafa's team competed domestically?

But I was just asking that right now, how would most of us fans feel ?? I don't think he's high on the list of most fans.

Managing a football club is difficult and the more the fans apply the pressure, the more difficult it gets. Yes, it's part and parcel of the job, but I don't think anyone would be able to win us the league in one year, unless they're spending huge amounts of money.
The thing with mourinho is that, in terms of the overall scenario, he has never failed at any major project he has undertaken.

Porto - peerless in their own league, champions of europe, something unheard of for them.

Chelsea - dominated the league. Chelsea hadnt even been CONTENDERS for 50 years, and he didnt just challenge for it - he dominated it, and won it back to back.

It would only have been a matter of time before he won the CL for them too.

The man is the most obvious example of a winner that i've seen for a long time. Dare i say it, his 'winners profile' reminds me of Kenny's. Totally driven and ultimately, he BELIEVES his own hype, which the players then do too.

If our lack of a league title is down in any major way to mentality (which i believe, in parts, it is), then Mourinho would certainly fix that.

I take that point but I don't believe he'd be the man for us.

Just because he's won the Prem with Chelsea doesn't automatically mean he'd win it with us.

I don't like his tactics or his teams' style of play - which is more dour than Rafa's.

If Rafa has to go, then I'd like to see a totally different sort to Mourinho - a manager whose teams play fluid, attacking football. We need to get back to passing and moving before we think about winning the title.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

The thing is, I may not like Fergie but if he'd won at LFC what he's won at SCUM, I've no doubt I'd be kissing his arse right now.
One thing about Mourinho. He plays this media act, it's the most obvious thing there is, IMO.

But EVERY SINGLE PERSON who has had direct contact with him within football, has always said what a gentleman he was, how respectful and dignified he was. I'm not saying he wears a halo, but the stuff we all see and react to, it's a media act, plain and simple.

Everyone that want or think that Mourinho will be our next manager should know that it's the worst hidden secret ever that he already have an agreement with Milan and will join them in the summer.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

I genuinely think Moanrinho lacks tactical nous. Probably more defensive than Rafa. Often out-thought.

Sheer quality of players made up for it. Drogba and Fwank getting 25 goals each helped.

Defending's not our issue - it's scoring goals at the mo. (although overall this season we have scored a lot)

As for the Mourihno deal, I don't think it's clear cut. Supporters would ask for Hicks and Gillett head.
I am analytical now while i'm sat directly in front of my computer screen at home, yes.

But when i'm actually there in person, live at PC World, i see far less.

It's easier to be analytical when you're surfing the web at home, rather than there in person.

I've managed to stay off this site for one week. And I'm stupid enough to post here just after a bad result.

                              Good night Disco.
