How long was Ferguson in charge before he won Utd the league? How long had Wenger been in charge when he won Arsenal the league?

Rafa needs to be afforded time OR serious amounts of money a la Chelsea. The most successful clubs in the Prem have had managers in place a long time. We've got the right manager - he's won major leagues abroad, got 2 different teams promoted to the top flight and has won cups abroad and over here, including the biggest cup/league prize of all. Changing the boss now, no matter who we get in, would set us back years.

Wenger won the Premiership in his 2nd season in English football.

You are right about chopping and changing managers, BUT how long do you wait? Houllier finally went a season possibly two seasons to late.

Is Rafa evolving his thinking in the Premiership? the defeat at Reading and the defeat at home to the Mancs would point to NO. So if he is not willing to change his thinking then we will continue as also rans.
        We come not to play.

seeing as we're bringing up the fans, the ground came over as completely dead watching the match on telly last night, i know we weren't playing the most inspiring footy, but it was an evening match and I expected more, it was bordering on discracefull given the reputation we have as some of the most vocal fans in europe.

This a dead arguement though isn't it. Like I keep getting told by every f*cker- the game has changed blahdy blah! Actually as you asked Wenger turned up half way through the 96/97 season I think and lost at United 1-0 with a Kewon O.G the winner. 18 months ****ing later he was at Wembley lifting the F.A Cup completing a double.

Thats how long it took wenger. It took Moruinho all of a year to win a domestic double. Ferguson. Well he got but in charge of a club in much worse state than the one Rafa inherited.

Also what else goes against Rafa is his immediate success at the club. I'll always thank him for what he's done and i'll never look at it as a negative, and if he turns this around he'll still be around to thank but after 2 european cup final and an fa cup final with us gradually getting a little closer to the big 3 going backwards isn't acceptable. It's like shagging Jessica Alba for three straight years then suddenly starting on the fat ginger chick from school. It's almost like pandora's box- once you've felt the pink velvet (those lovely shiney pots we're supposed to go gathering in may) then your not going back to dry humping (no shiney pots at all ).

I know Rafa hasn't quite had the same money as Mourinho and Ferguson but it isn't all about the money. It's about how you send your team out and what you tell them. Mourinho's style isn't the best and maybe he does love the fame but the one thing he has going for him is his want to be the best and his want for his players to be the best.

There's a reason chelsea were hated with a passion under jose, and it wasn't because he didn't win a trophy. We hated him just the same reason we hated united. They've become more successful than us. Mourinho- 2 league titles in 3 seasons. That's what i'm craving baby- I don't know about you!
