without ranting about last night it looked to me like Rafa's taking the pi** and inviting G&H to sack him so his reputation's intact, I've got a horrible feeling that we'll have mourinho as manager in the summer but at least he'll bring Paco back

To me it looked like we were well in charge of the game, and should have killed it off. Then they got lucky, and Rafa lost it in a way I`ve never seen before. We can discuss his pros and cons, but there is no doubt about his love for the club. He would never take the piss out of the club and the fans to get to the owners.Blank

I didn't see any interviews after the game last night, as I couldn't bring myself to watch anymore. I assume this is what you are talking about?.Originally posted by redstaralex View Postwithout ranting about last night it looked to me like Rafa's taking the pi** and inviting G&H to sack him so his reputation's intact, I've got a horrible feeling that we'll have mourinho as manager in the summer but at least he'll bring Paco back
If so, anyone got a link?Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'
"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.
* After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

I dunno about that. I think his reputation would be more in tact if he wasn't fired. He could just walk into the Real job and nobody would bat an eyelid (well, relatively speaking anyways).Originally posted by redstaralex View Postwithout ranting about last night it looked to me like Rafa's taking the pi** and inviting G&H to sack him so his reputation's intact, I've got a horrible feeling that we'll have mourinho as manager in the summer but at least he'll bring Paco backWell, here we are in a room with two manky hookers and a racist dwarf. I think I'm heading home.

Would Real want him after his four years without one single title challenge?Originally posted by johnp View PostI dunno about that. I think his reputation would be more in tact if he wasn't fired. Fair enough, we could get repetitiveOriginally posted by Reina View PostAnd without title challenge in four years.
I guess he's done it before with Valencia in Spain, both with the title and in europe. Maybe they'll go on that.Well, here we are in a room with two manky hookers and a racist dwarf. I think I'm heading home.

The first 2 seasons we had no chance of the league title.
Look at the squad now compared to then it is so much better it is unreal.
Last season and this we should have been in a position to be closer to the top and while I can no longer see us winning this season I believe that at the end of the season we will be within 7-10 points of the leaders.
My fear is that the club will sack Rafa and the next manager ( I really hope it is not Jose), will reap the rewards of what Rafa has done and take the club the final step.
I firmly believe that with just one or 2 more good additions to the team not the squad we will be in a position to win the league. I just hope Rafa is given the chance to do it.

The squad is strong, yes we need better strikers and possibly centre back cover but it is strong.Originally posted by Angry Dan View PostThe first 2 seasons we had no chance of the league title.

The problem is the way the team attacks, the style of play, the fast at the beginning and then slow slow slow throughout the rest of the game. If we score early and first usually fine, if we don't then problems.
The style of the team reflects the managers ethos, look at Arsenal and Man Yoo, I've been waiting for a Valencia type performance a glimmer of hope but no, nothing, whether that's because the players are not technically astute (rafa signed the vast majority of them now) or whether Rafa is too cautious I'm unsure - probably a bit of both.We come not to play.

Ive been saying that to depressed mates of mine all morning. The players are there to at least be on a par with the likes of chelsea (perhaps not arsenal and utd just yet) yet they have consistently underperfomed this season. It has only been when they go two goals us do they look confident and relaxed and the shackles come off and three or four goals are scored. Invariably though, when it is nil nil or one nil, the team looks tentative and unprogressive - this has to be down to the managers ethos.
It seems that the tide is definitely turning for the spaniard, unfortunately.Fernando Torres
