[QUOTE=DannyMan2006;866489]Is it pure coincidence that Carra is ALWAYS the player who is making dramatic goal saving last ditch tackles? No.

Agger doesn't shirk a challenge, but Carra reads the danger far better
    .QUOTE]

Or maybe Agger anticipates danger on his side of the field before it happens thus does not need to make last ditch tackles!!

Sorry - playing devils advocate here!!!!

There was no finer example of anticipating danger than Carra's performance at Man City last week. Pepe could have played blindfolded.

I'm not knocking Agger, who has been massively missed, but he is still some way behind our number 23 for consistency. He'd admit as much himself.

He seems to have been out for more than a few months now, with rumours of a return on the cards for the past few weeks, but with no sign of the lad actually on the pitch. Is his injury more of a concern than originally thought? Why isn't it healed by now?

The stories we've heard are that he's been running ok but having trouble kicking the ball. We also heard he returned to his homeland over the Christmas period to consult a doctor over there, or something along those lines, and was even trying different boots to see if it made a difference.

He's been out since Alonso was originally out, yet he's returned to action, finally. The initial timescale of his lay-off is well gone and my worry is that his foot hasn't healed right if it still concerns him when kicking the ball - but I'm no doctor.

Agger is a key figure for us and had formed a great understanding alongside Carragher since he broke into the first team. He's comfortable on the ball, can pass well, can bring the ball out of defence, and has even popped up with the odd cracking goal or two. But his main asset to us is that it allows us to play further up the pitch than when Hyypia plays, giving us an extra edge with our attacking plays.

The stories of us being after another defender in this transfer window grows (with Garay the latest to be linked), but that is natural with the ageing Hyypia our main experienced cover whilst Agger recovers. But is there more to it than that? Will Agger return sometime soon, or is the injury still causing him to delay his comeback for some time yet?
He seems to be a slow healer, he was out for yonks with shin splints in his inital season as well.

Just a whisper i've heard in work but Agger may be back for Boro game on the 12th
Dreams come true. Without that possibility, nature would not incite us to have them.

he's clearly close to returning. Otherwise Rafa wouldnt be talking about him.

He cant come back soon enough for me. Im sick of seeing Carra hoof the ball downfield
