NO, i wasn't singing his praises, I was probably slating him. I've stated that I dislike him, hate if you want, but I don't like/(hate passionately) Fergusson either but I respect the fact that he's a bloody good manager. Same with jose.
The "shhhhhh" thing was blown out of all proportion IMO, I always viewed that as banter and part and parcel of the game. Same thing as players cupping their ear to fans giving them stick before they score.
The ambulance thing and the Frisk thing were out of order and part of the reason I dislike him so much. But I don't have to like the man to want him as our manager.
I want to see our team reach it's potential in the domestic league and I believe Rafa has failed to do that.

But he does deserve some credit for what he has done since he took over....and it is an indication of improvement.

As for Rafa has done little better than Houllier

We beat, Juve, Chavs, Barca, Chavs again etc....to get to 2 CL finals.

GH got us a spawny win against Alaves in extratime....I love it of course, but get a grip mate.
You forgot that we now have the best Academy in the country.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Obviously not, as he hasnt had the opportunity.

But he certainly is capable of winning the league in this country. Rafa hasnt shown any evidence that the same can be said of him.

Your idea of 'at all costs' probably differs from mine.

Being gobby and cocky etc etc isnt a crime and i dont lose sleep over it.

But as you say - He hasn't had the (same) opportunity (to spend hundreds of millions)!!

How did you react when he ran down the touchline at Old Trafford upon seeing Porto score that late goal?

Hitler couldve goose stepped down the touchline for all I cared that night.

Besides, that was before he was at Chelsea and we all had an insight to his ****tyness.

JM didn't spend hundreds of millions, he spent 89 million before his record breaking title win.

In one season? Followed by many more the following season and after many more had been spent before he was there.

He has a history having won La Liga. That's not the Premier League but you get my point.

Say for arguments sake we appointed Hiddink. Where would the proof be that he could do it? Or any manager other than Mourinho for that matter.

And in terms of the LEAGUE (which is what i SAID - re read my post), yes, Rafa has done little better than Houllier. So i'm not sure why you've used examples from the CL and UEFA Cup...when i specifically mentioned the league.
Cause they count as silverware AND are an indication of the improvement of Liverpool FC.

If you read my post too you will see that I pointed that out specifically. I only mentioned the CL cause silverware is all that counts.

But hey, I will leave you alone, cause if you can't see that the bar has been raised and that Rafa has the financial odds against him AND that we have actually made improvements then I can't open your eyes.

That's actually Rafa's biggest achievement. That will save us millions in a few years time.

We had a **** Academy that produced nothing with Houllier in charge. Now a few years later we are the best.

That is what I call an excellent performed job.

It's a completely pointless discussion into how much was spent before he arrived. HE didn't spend it and he may not have spent it if he had had the choice. I'm sure there were many players that he didn't want when he arrived bought by Ranieri. We must have outspent Chavski for 95% of our history. How far back are you going to take it?
What's the point in talking about what he spent after the first year?
He won the title with 2 records thrown in having spent 89(ish) million FACT.
