Nothing new there really, was common knowledge that Maureen would always jump at the Liverpool job. He would have joined us ahead of the chavs had we accepted his offer to manage Liverpool when GH was in charge. Een his Porto players talked publicly about Maurihno been well suited to a team like Liverpool.
He loves the stories about Shankly, Paisley etc, and loves how Liverpool make heores out of their managers, after all, he is the special one, and has a huge ego to feed.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

              * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

Reza, great to have you back mate. Hope all is well, and that you'll be sticking around this time

As for this Mourinho stuff, there seems to be no indication there that the club is interested in appointing him, more the other way around that he wants Rafa's job.

If we were ever to go down this route it would probably be a watershed moment for the club - sacking a CL winning manager and then appointing someone who was previously rejected because it was felt his antics were the contrary to the Liverpool Way.

I always thought we were his first choice.

And it's his ego that makes me suspicious about what motivates him to want to be our manager. Personally I think he represents all that is wrong with the modern game, and the way he conducts himself is the complete antithesis of the Liverpool Way.

If the yanks can`t back rafa financially then why would Jose want to take his place.

Who knows? Maybe they just don't want to back Rafa?
