Yeah and we followed 82 points with 68.

Why do people highlight the improvement but then blink at the catastrophic drop in quality for the following season?

I agree with the above points about Rafa not being back over the transfer period means he's proably off tho. No idea who will want to come in & manage us under such a dictatorsip tho-especially with such financial limitations.

I'm not saying sack Rafa but I'm struggling to see when or where a title challenge is going to come from any time soon. We have been playing pretty **** football since September and that's too long.

Top four is minimum. Obviously I want more but I'm prepared to wait and see how things pan out over the next season or two before I make a judgement.

I wont even consider rafa`s position until the end of NEXT season.

Only then in my mind will he have had a decent ammount of time to truly turn the club into HIS club and have had all his ideas bedded in place.

Then I will sit down and see where we are going with him. I suspect by then we will be going very high places with him.

Every season under him i have seen improvents in us of some sort and while this is happening i`m happy.

There is nobody else out there that can do the job better IMO.

We have aye, but we only just scraped it last season after a really impressive run in 05/06 & we havent kicked on like the gooners have this season.

I'm firmly in the Rafa camp & I think off-field **** is really getting to him & the players, but there are some GH-esque idiosyncracies that are really glaringly negatives & need addressing quickly even allowing for the fact that I agree with Rafa that we need to buy a few more big big players.

Aye, I agree he has merited being given until the end of next season at least. We do need a top 4 finish tho & I would be asking big big questions if we dont get it- just like I did in GH's penultimate season.

I wish you were right Dhavlos but imo we need more than 2 more players to win the league. For a start we need at least one more sh!t hot striker, a right and left winger and probably 2 full backs to replace Finnan who is gettng on a bit and Riise who's not very good.

I think if we got a top striker and top winger then they could make the difference, eg a Silva or Alves for the right, an Anelka/Villa/Berbatov etc up front. I agree we'd need a couple of more players on top of that, central defensive cover, a left back, but I think we could get decent enough reinforcements for those positions through just wheeling and dealing and selling the likes of Riise, Carson, Sissoko etc. If Rafa had £40m to spend in the summer, in addition to what he earns through sales, I think that would be enough to turn us into champions.

Improvement needs to be continuous - or at least, having improved, we need to consolidate. We havent.

Aye, altho I think LW is a higher priority than RW, cos Babel, yossi & SG can play on the right nominally. £40m plus sales is about right altho I reckon we need a new LB too. Forward would be a playmaker.


I think we could challenge with that, but we would need more quality coming off the bench too up top to win it.
