They are better than us on the business front and always make a fair bit of money on transfers out. I wouldn't be at all surprised if this was true.

I've been saying this for ages. People harp on about us not spending as much as them but it's nonsense.

Since we last won the league, our net spend is higher than anyone else's, bar chelsea...

And people ask why i'm so peeved with everything.

We spend ****LOADS. We just fecking spunk half of it down the toilet on crap players.

I think it's that their squaddies were better - you can see the development after Rafa took over, our squaddies are getting sold at a higher price and there are more takers as well.

Unfortunately true, we can't/had to give away some of Houllier's signings, he is the main one to blame.
              We come not to play.

This can be pointless whitout facts. If your friend from Delloite can mail you all players sold/bought between two clubs since 1992 then we can compare. I'd like to see that list, and since they did the calculations they must have that. Can you please ask him that.Thanks.

Not surprised we spent loads, but badly.

Diouf, Cheyrou, Diao - i mean really FFS!

Also Man U are clever when it comes to structuring their transfers - mostly based on performance.

I dont think they're far off mate.

I've seen lists posted in various places and they've ALL had us as having spent more than Man Utd since 1990.

                            Agree

I think the late Evans / Houllier years done it

Collymore was £8.5m, McAteer £4.5m, Scales, Babb, Heggem, Kennedy, Berger, Leonhardsen, Ince, Friedel, Song - made a loss on all of them

£20m+ on Diouf, Diao, Cheyrou with nothing in return back for them either - these are just off the top of my head too

It's only since Rafa's been here that this has started to change. Whilst Utd have spent fortunes, they received more for Beckham than we did for all the above put together I should imagine
