That was the one point of your post that I was going to pick up on Alun.

Two things.

One, I don't think Rafa's basic approach is the long ball. Ged's was. Rafa's isn't. Yes we can play ****. And yes we can look blunt in attack. But he doesn't set us up to play it from back to front, launching it as Mourinho did at Chelsea.

I think there's a difference between not getting the best out of your team and it all falling apart, and another manager whose definition of getting the best out of his team is akin to Sam Allardyce with a few genuine matchwinners.

Second thing is, even without that, and even assuming I don't like how we're playing at the moment (and I don't), why decide to sack one person who was delivering football you didn't like, and then replace him with someone else you don't like either. That'd be a tad silly.
