Drop Gerrard and bring in Lucas?

Perhaps Gerrard needs some time to get his **** together?

    Just putting it out there...

    He was rubbish today.

I just wish we could sell Kuyt, Voronin, Riise, Sissoko, Carson and Pennant NOW.

But we can't and we're not going to.

Yes but do you think we should drop Gerrard or are you saying it's the others that are dragging him down?

Well yeah - he's often surrounded by mediocrity or, worse, utter crap.

You could see him tearing his out today, particularly with the woeful Voronin.

Dropping Gerrard isn't the answer IMO.

Also, if Lucas is gonna replace anyone then it's got to be Xabi. **** me, what the hell has happened to him? He's been so sloppy lately and his form for the best part of 18 months has been poor. He doesn't look the same player any more.

Yeah great idea.... Why not drop Torres whilst where at it?.

The two really big players who we rely on each and every game to grab us out of the ****e and you want one of them dropped?.
On awaiting Everton's arrival for a derby game at Anfield, Bill Shankly gave a box of toilet rolls to the doorman and said: "Give them these when they arrive – they'll need them!"

His goals have been vital this season mate, it would be crazy to drop him.

The difference with Stevie from the rest is that he's a matchwinner, he might play poorly but he can still do something. Same with Torres.

They just have to play, it's that simple.

Gerrard is a world class attacking midfielder, perhaps the most complete player in the game today, can turn a game with a moment of brilliance BUT

he's NEVER a playmaker, NEVER a game carrier, never an offensive LEADER.

One of Lucas or Alonso must play every game in the middle, regardless of where and how Gerrard plays.

Mascherano-Gerrard a good combination on paper with one huge overlooked problem= No playmaker.

                  Because Lucas isn't ready.

Because Lucas was poo against Luton

Because Lucas doesn't look dangerous when he has the ball.

                  Because he isn't our captain.

Yeah fair enough. Perhaps a good solution is to bring in Lucas alongside Mascher and play Gerrard on the right.

Then get rid of the alehouse Voronin/Kuyt and play Kewell/Babel/Benny alongside Torres.

As for the left, we need a new player there for sure.

I don't see why not, there shouldn't be any player in the team that is undroppable

I don't know about that, I think Xabi needs games whereas Gerrard needs to sort his friggin head out again.
He seems to be going into "strop-mode"

Gerrard has been playing so deep recently..it's one of "Rafa's baffles", he was in a rich vein of form scoring goals as an attacking CM, so why shackle him by making him play as a deep playmaker?
