A hugely deserved honour for a true LFC legend. Top man.
That said, I can't agree with all this anti-SG stuff. Without him there would have been no Istanbul and we'd have lost an FA Cup final to West Ham - if that's not leading by example I don't what is. He'll never be held in the same esteem as Carra after his flirtations with Chelski, but carrying a team to 2 trophies - not to mention fourth places - means he should keep the armband as long as he wants it.
Great captains don't have to be great blokes, just ask Souness' team-mates.Comment
