He couldn't afford to build a new stadium and finance Rafa in the transfer market. He also had a deadline to meet, the money the club would get from the City and EU for the new stadium project, I think it was £16m in total if I remember things right.Originally posted by CharlieMansonsSquint View PostThanks for being honest. You have a point. But why on earth did Moores decide to sell up after we'd won in Istanbul and the club was on the way up again?
Because we, as fans, are desperate for the league, and have been for some time, and Moores being a fan thought the same way. But instead of holding his nerve and trusting Rafa to get it done long term on a budget, he took the easy way out with a big payoff thinking it was the way forward for quicker success.
And let's be honest here, most fans felt the same way, some even wanted it.
In the end because of him being advised by Parry he only had G&H left and had no other choice than to sell to them if the club would get the £16m.
A sad story about a bad businessman and a vampire CEO.Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

i thought it was because to survive in the modern game we needed to be in a bigger stadium,a stadium that moores could not afford to provide us with.Originally posted by CharlieMansonsSquint View PostThanks for being honest. Seriously.

lets be honest charlie,we have to be playing in a stadium that holds more than 45.000.
the only way to achieve that is by building a new stadium, moores couldnt afford that so he had to sell up,You two scousers are always yapping,I'm gonna show you some serious rapping.

Moores had 14 years up until 2005 to build a strong club from the ground up. If he had put in a structure in place to build an academy or hire the right managers then we wouldn't be in that position after Istanbul.Originally posted by CharlieMansonsSquint View PostThanks for being honest. Real Madrid, Barca, SCUM, Inter, AC Milan and Bayern Munich (and recetnly maybe ARSEnal) I clubs I consider on our level and that's about it. We are the only ones that are run like a corner shop, have a **** academy etc.
We are living off a name, all teh clubs I listed above and others want to win their league it doesn't mean the owners (or presidents) make dumb ****ng decisions or don't have a proper structure in place to begin with.

Um, we're getting a stadium we've needed for at least the last 7 or 8 years.Originally posted by CharlieMansonsSquint View PostDid we?
When did we win number 5? And on what budget?
Arsene Wenger, Arsenal. It can be done.
But oh no, people wanted the easy way out (sugar daddy) so they could live out their FM fantasies.
And now we're in no better position than we were before. But instead we've got people in charge who only care about the balance sheet, and who can blame them? That's why they bought us.
You really think, squad wise, we're in no better position?!Quote of the year :

I was saying that I don't want ANY foreigners but the only one that seems to have an interest in the game rather than just money was him. I want a footballing man though.
He's talking about setting up some major footballing centre in Asia to link with Man City.

Its a very Different league now, we could nick a title one day i'm sure but to consistently challenge for it year in year out including europe we need more like Torres, they come at a price. The scum pay 30mill for a defender FFS & they say Ferg is a top manager, he still needs to do that to sustain their position no matter how good he is as a coach, it's just modern day footie at the highest level, it's how it is.

Look at the table. Doesn't lie. But that's just the league, of course we're more likely to win things than we were 3 years ago.Originally posted by disco View PostUm, we're getting a stadium we've needed for at least the last 7 or 8 years.

But why couldn't Moores have hung around?
We didn't spend fortunes last summer, as some we're clamouring/demanding to be spent, though it was slightly more than usual.
But why not trust Rafa to build this thing like Wenger has done?
Admittedly Rafa's frustrated me recently, but he's won some major trophies and brought the club forward.
Re the stadium, well I've got no answer for that one. Economically, now's not a good time to be building one.I hate Polanski

THE WHOLE PROBLEM IS IN PARRY! That incapable ****! Look at United. Do you know why they have so many supporters around the world? Do you know why they earn loads and loads of money? Because they know how to sell the brand! You can get United shirts everywhere, especially in Asia where the POTENCIAL money for LFC definitely exists!
And what about Liverpool? We have 2 ****ing stores, one in Liverpool and one in Chester. And that's about it. If you don't buy the LFC merchendise from there, there are only two options:
a) go to the offal online store to find out that nearly every article is out of stock or
b) go to Turkey or whatever and buy a fake shirt
And that's all because Parry isn't capable of running our club. If we had a proper chief executive, who knows what would happen. But as long as these parasites are in our club, nothing will change!Torres Fan Club Member #2, Lucas Leiva Fan Club Member #1

Moores didn't have the assets to get the loans needed.
Lets see what happens with the stadium. If we see some progress with that and shovel in the ground, then we can give them some leeway. If not, and they come out with more excuses, then we know they've ****ed us and want to sell.
Christ, it used to be a whole lot simpler supporting your football club.
