Thinking about it, the best start if I remember rightly was at the start of the 2002/2003 season when we went 12 games unbeaten. We were top and in our 13th game lost at Boro (to a goal from ****ing Zenden, wasn't it?) and it was all downhill after that.
Yeah, the superb start we made was overshadowed by one of the most depressingly abrupt descents into sheer mediocrity (something like 9 points from 33?!) and was finally brought to an end after we beat Southampton with an Emile Heskey goal.

And we're moaning now. Don't know we're born!

Who would settle for a draw now?

I'd take a score draw with a Lampard cruciate thrown in for good measure.
Forsaken they lie, for they have seen him.

I remember that, we had 30 points from 12 games (didn't Arse have 36 like), and we hardly won another game all season. Maybe its better this way, bring us down to Earth quickly then build up again as the season progresses

Sensibly I'd take a score draw, love us to beat them obviously but in the grand scheme of things and taken in isolation, a point at their ****e-hole would be a perfectly decent result. If we draw and put in a good strong performance I'll be happy enough on Sunday evening, especially if scum drop points to Arsenal.

Things are going so badly for me in a football sense at the minute that I'm convinced the two results will be our nightmare scenario - a defeat for us and a Scum win. If I'm not mistaken that will take them to 15 points with us on ****ing 4.

Just to put a positive slant on it eh Shaggy?

And you've predicted a win too, not even a draw, I might have to arbitrarily edit yours to a loss if you keep this up for the next 48 hours

Relax. We'll stick it to 'em. Scum will draw. Things will look rosier come Sunday night.

                      You wanna beat Chelski right?

                      Well here's what you do:-

Limit the amounts of dead balls (free kix, corners) you allow them to put into the box.

Don't overcommit from midfield (unless chasing game)

Keep the game tight as you will never spank them.

Put a man on Makelele; he's their fulcrum.

Get in the refs face like Terry does, to ensure that we wont stand for poor decisions against us (Yes - It's Mike Riley again. The ref who deemed Tiago's handball at the Kop end was 'ball to hand' even though it was delivered from about 30 yards away!!! tw@t!).

Believe we can win, and don't be afraid to do it.

                      H

I think Mourinho has had a fall out with Ferreira (Mourinho having a fall out with one of his players, how weird is that?) which means that cannibal dude will probably play at RB.

I would play Gerrard on the right, because he's better defensively than Pennant and will give Cole a nightmare going forward. Cole and Robben on the left are good offensively, but Finnan and Stevie could cause them major problems when we attack.

I think our midfield works best when Stevie, Xabi and Momo are all in the team; I know Xabi hasn't been playing well this season, but I'm sure that is a temporary lull.

In a game like this, set pieces are essential, so I would have Aurelio at left back, or even Riise there and Aurelio in left midfield.

Up front I hope he sticks with Bellamy and Kuyt, one of the strengths of the Manure side in the late '90's was that they had 2 settled strike partnerships; Yorke & Cole or Sheringham & Solskaer. I think Bellamy & Kuyt has the potential to be as good as any strike partnership around, but that means they need to play together consistently.

Most important against these Blue ****es, is to avoid giving away too many corners or stupid free kicks, because they will punish you.

Everybody is a predicting a tight game, so I reckon there will be lots of goals.

That reads terribly. Who do you mean?
                          .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

Ah, I forgot about him, I could only think of Geremi standing in for Ferreira. I figured I must have been missing something since I didn't really believe you would have used that term for him.
