Indeed, as much as I love Carra and Stevie, people are quick to forgive their transgressions yet want to sitck the boot in if it's Luis or Pepe that makes a mistake, or in the past, Traore.

Carra and Gerrard are allowed to gift the opposition goals, like Carra did against Everton and Gerrard against Arsenal, but Pepe does it once and we have 3 threads about it and he gets called a clown.

Some of the stick Djimi got on KT for after the Benfica and Burnley games for example was an absolute disgrace.

At the end of the day there's little point in talking about Carra's mistake, we all know it's not going to become a habit. Reina on the other hand I know people have been worried about for a long time in this department. Personally I think he has been and will continue to be a very good keeper for us. When he does make a mistake he gets over it very quickly. I do take the point that some people think of it as heresy to dis Carra or SG, but I don't think there's many like that on here.

I don't think there is a better keeper out there that we could expect realistically to come to us, and Pepe will hopefully be with us for 10 years or more, where that leaves Carson I don't know, but I doubt there is a better squad of 3 goalies than what we have currently.

I like he came out to admit his mistake, and that the fans might not be so forgiving seeing it was the derby that the mistake happened in, he will forever be remembered for that, along with all the other great things he will do for us along the way.

Life has its ups, and sometimes embarrassingly, its downs, but we just get up & get on with it.

For me it's just funny that Pepe gets dragged through the mud for a mistake that made no difference what so ever to the fact that we going to lose the match.

The way I see it, the whole back 5 had an absolutely horrible game and that little bit of comedy at the end just rounds it up nicely.

Pepe's a great keeper and hasn't turned into Westerveld over night.

It was a cock up by Carra but it shouldn't have got that far as Cahill had Alonso in a head lock just before it.This is about Reina and I think he was fantastic last season but he is prone to Clownish behaviour(as are all but the really really top notch keepers.Since cup final he's blundered a fair bit, sometimes punished, sometimes not.You can get away with mistakes from anyone except your keeper. The more he does these things the quicker the defence will lose confidence in him and that leads to more confusion.Anyway I think he's a good keeper, just not a great one.

Where did I say either of them are bulletproof. This thread is about Reina, not either of them.As for the ball being hammered it didn't go far at all either time luckily for him both times not to a PSV player either.he has no business rushing out to the edge of his penalty area when there is already a defender in situ.Like I said he's good, just not great IMO.

I've already given example above - how Gerrard's mistake for Henry's goal against Arsenal, as well as Carra's mistake against Everton were ignored whilst we have this thread about Reina's mistake which was quite frankly completely insignificant compared to those two.

The worst example I have seen was either on Koptalk or YNWA, when Carra's mistake against Benfica for Simao's goal was actually blamed on Djimi - "it's not Carra's fault, it's because he's playing next to Traore" is what someone said

                              That is an absolute disgrace.

Like it or not, a vast number of our fans are far more willing to accept crucial mistakes from Carra and Stevie than anyone else.

                                What Derby Day blunder?
I'm playing all the right notes. Not necessarily in the right order. I'll give you that, sunshine.
