Why the constant criticism with Stevie G...?
It's almost like half of you don't respect him for the brilliant footballer he is, and he is a true leader. Watching Carra captain the other night he was hardly vocal enough. A captain cannot spend the entire match screaming his head off, he also has to play football.

Has no one noticed how all the new players to LFC (of all ages) always rave about how good our capt is?

My message is simple and clear - get off Gerrard's back people he is the best LFC have had for a long time. Respect him for who he is and what he is. He is the true LFC captain whilst Carra is the perfect vice captain. Alonso is the ****in' translator!

I havent seen any constant criticism anywhere mate. From what I can see everyone does respect him for his footballing abilities.

Im never gonna kiss his arse though because I dont have a great deal of time for him as a person. Great ****in player though, even if, for me, he goes missing in games a bit too much when played in the middle. I would prefer him on the right.

You dont have to love the person mate, just the player, as long as hes good enough, which Stevey most certainly is

just goes to show how overstated the title of captain can be. it can be used for all sorts of off-the-pitch reasons. beckham as england captain? brian o' driscoll as ireland rugby captain? the may wear/have worn the armsbands but it sure as hell doesn't mean that these guys are the first one their teammates look to for inspiration. and that is not downgrading SG's abilities at all. as a footballer.
