No. I know they have lied on stuff I've been involved in. Why should we believe the BBC more than any other media outlet? Because they are on our telly?
Parry is frequently on Sportsweek giving his views on various matters, LFC and non-LFC. I'm therefore inclined to believe that there is some substance to the claims they made which are quite shocking really when you listen to them. I just do not believe that all this comes from one journo making a story up about how they are struggling to finance the deal and therefore DIC might come in. Even the tone of Hicks' statement makes it seem like its him on his own now, talking about his family rather than the joint-ownership.
Nah, I'm not convinced of that. Surely they would name their price to DIC and that would be it? They either buy at the price set or they don't.
Or...He's realised that someone close to him, possibly his son, has been caught out blabbing and he wants to put a stop to those rumors so that his position isn't weakened?
Aye, that's eaxctly what I thought whilst I buggered off to do the washing up

He does say that they are 'commited to co owning the club'.

Well spotted. He is no longer speaking on Gillett's behalf.
Hopefully the press will run with this and turn the screw even more.
It's not good because it's rude. It's good because it looks like it's good because it's rude.
Is he not saying it because the supposed quote this morning that he was sick of it was supposed to have come from a member of his family?
Exactly. I believe that this statement is a direct result of the report on Sportsweek this morning where a Hicks' family member is reported to have said that (paraphrased) "they are sick and tired of the club and can't wait to sell."
The fact that Hicks mentioned this in his statement indicates to me that this could still be a case of positioning.
Also, while Hicks has denied any offers or intention of selling, that doesn't make this a completely media manufactured situation. The telling point for me is that DIC has not denied their interest in making an offer and buying the club. Since they were gazzumped once before by G&H I would imagine they have little interest in letting this story run if there is no truth in it.
Is the right answer Al... Like everyone else I want to see the back of these no-hopers, but unfortunately unless Gillett grows the balls to stand up to Hicks it will not happen. Hicks loves to play hard ball and he'll rather run the club into the ground than to be seen to bow out.
Liverpoool Football Club is only a few days away from being sold down the river by the egotistical Hicks and the balless wonder that is Gillett. When they sign those new Credit Terms our club is on the road to meltdown (ala Leeds).
Our only hope is for DIC to either make a hostile take over with help of RBS( as I am sure they are as concernd as we are about the path we will be taking) or DIC really chew the arse off Gillett to side with them..IMO this is the easier option; But here lays the problem. No matter how strongly Gillett feels against the idea of loading the club with this huge debt he fears Hicks to much to betray him is this way.
We need to send a very strong message to not only Gillett and Hicks, but to those that will provide the means to which these clowns will slowly destroy the very foundations of our great insititution that is Liverpool Football club.
RBS has enjoyed a very long and solid business relationship with Liverpool FC and I am sure they fear for the long term future of our beloved club.
We need them to know that we the fans are against this idea and we ask that they cannot sanction this deal unless Hicks and Gillett show the colour of the money by way of guarantee, beacuse without it G&H failure to repay the new loan means the downfall of liverpool fc.
Hicks in particular has done this in the past with other football projects...When the going gets tuff he backrupts the Holding company (which in our case would be KOP plc ) leaving him free to go onto the next victim without losing a single cent of his own money.
I am so afraid for the future of our club I truly hope a miracle will happen.
