Although I really want these muppets out of the club I think we have now hit the stage where we are all going to have to sit and watch what happens and try and chill out about it all. The papers claim they will announce the loan tomorrow and also show the new designs. Although I feel the numbers don't add up we all have to admit they are not going to show these designs unless they are confident they will be built, they will not make the same mistake twice. DIC must be confident as well as the idiots that the numbers stack up so they should be able to get the loans.
Maybe if they stay they have learnt their lessons and wont **** up again but we will have to watch them carefully and also accept they will be here at least until 2012 (or a good offer comes in).

'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

        Parry faces Liverpool funding dilemma
        Independent.co.uk Web

        Thursday, 24 January 2008

Liverpool's owners, Tom Hicks and George Gillett, remained insistent last night that they will today announce a £350m refinancing package and detailed plans for a new stadium. But fans sent a fresh, resounding message that they want the Americans out. Alternative investors from Dubai remain on standby, while the club's chief executive, Rick Parry, is perched on the horns of a dilemma that leaves his own future uncertain.

Hicks and Gillett have been claiming for months that refinancing is imminent. They plan to borrow £350m to repay the cash they used to buy Liverpool last year and start work on a new stadium. A sticking point has been a reluctance by the Americans to put a penny of their own money into the deal. Another fundamental block has been that Parry does not want the new debt piled on to the club's books secured against club assets.

For the refinancing to go through in such a fashion, Parry's signature, as a key player on the board, would be required, as well as those of Hicks, Gillett and the banks. If Parry refused to sign, his job could theoretically be at risk. If he signs, he risks the kind of fan backlash suffered by David Gill at Manchester United since the Glazer takeover at Old Trafford.

Liverpool's supporters now certainly seem vehemently anti-Hicks and Gillett. A poll in yesterday's Liverpool Daily Post showed that 89 per cent want the aspirant owners, Dubai International Capital, to run the club. DIC lost out last year but remain interested, and in touch with both Hicks and Gillett.

A Liverpool Echo survey showed that 92 per cent of fans want Hicks and Gillett to sell. A separate poll, by the Liverpool Supporters' network – an alliance of fanzines and websites – asked 2,000 fans: "Do you trust Hicks and Gillett?", to which 98 per cent replied "No". And asked whether the Americans or Benitez had the best interests of the club at heart, 99 per cent said Rafael Benitez, and one per cent the owners.

A finding that might most hurt Hicks and Gillett in their tenderest spots – their bottom lines – was that 76 per cent of fans said they would consider withdrawing their financial commitment to the club by not buying tickets or merchandise.

DIC were waiting yesterday for the American's next move. Sources are not ruling out DIC's continued pursuit of the club, even should the refinancing be concluded. Ownership of the club remains a "long term aim" for the Arab consortium.

The Havant & Waterlooville full-back Justin Gregory, meanwhile, is set to miss the FA Cup fourth-round tie at Anfield on Saturday after the Football Association claimed the club manipulated the fixture list to have him available.

Gregory was scheduled to serve a one-match ban after picking up five cautions, but looked to be available after a Blue Square Conference game against with Thurrock was re-arranged for last night. However, the FA's regulatory commission have decided this was a deliberate attempt to play the system and the original ban will therefore still stand.

Gregory said: "It's a nightmare, but there's not much I can do about it. I did an interview saying I was happy there was a league game taking place so my suspension would be cleared, but that was taken out of context. The FA officials obviously saw that and think the game has been specifically arranged. I'm absolutely gutted, but you also have to keep things in perspective. Nobody died and it gives someone else a chance to play at Anfield."

So Parry could stop the loan.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

The more I think about it the more infuriated I am that these yanks expect us the fans to subsidise their purchase of the club, when they categorically stated that the club would not be burdened by their purchase debt.

If thse posts are to be believed there are still negotiations going on behind the scenes and if the refinancing and stadium are announced there are all part of the conditions that DIC have wanted and G and H have followed these conditions dutifully- my brain hurts.

I guess that it means that when it comes down to a decision like this then the board need to be 100% behind it.

If Parry were to refuse to sign then the Yanks would have no choice but to sell as they'd lose the club to the bank. Unfortunately Parry's got no balls so we can forget that.

If this is the case, let's see if the cunt is finally able to grow some balls and for once put the club's best interests before his own, especially as he knows DIC is waiting in the wings. Won't be holding my breath though.

My knowledge of corporate governance is not what it used to be, but I'd be very surprised if that is the case.

He must be very close to Moores, and realises how much Moores regrets selling to the yanks. I guess he would have to choose between his professional future and his conscience.

Not great mate, so far, we would need 90 odd quid from everyone on the list to place an advert. don't think everyone could afford it, and it wouldnt be fair to expect them all to pay that.

Yep, and Parry knows if he did that he'd almost certainly be out the door - the yanks wont want to keep someone on who's working against them, and if DIC take over I can't imagine they'd retain Parry. Parry is the founder member of the Self-Preservation Society. Really can't see him growing the balls to refuse to ratify the loan.

If Parry does that he's signing his own death warrant in terms of his job at the club. Can't see him doing that.
