Mr Hicks,
I feel it neccessary to write to you regarding the state of our Club along with many other supporters that I know have contacted you in recent days.
I am an Irish Liverpool fan who has grown up knowing the heritage and history that belongs to this club and the special bond that has formed between the supporters and the club over the last century but in particular since Bill Shankly took charge of our team some 40 odd years ago.
It is with terrible sadness that I feel what Shankly had acheived seems to have been erroded away by yourself and Mr Gillett, but in particular yourself and you have managed to do this in less than a year.
Please note that 95% of our fans show support for Rafa, as we feel your treatment of him is not the Liverpool way and certainly not based on footballing results or reasons. He is one of the most respected and dignified managers in the world today and you have made a mockery of him. This is unforgivable.
I would like to know if you are really prepared for the potential back lash that you may feel from your actions, maybe you don't care, or are you, as before still trying to pull the wool over our eyes and think that we will have patience with you.
Please be sure that this is not the case, we have been patient thus far considering the amount of lies that you have told and it seems that you have no morals and certainly do not understand what we expected from you as 'Custodians' of our great club.
Yes we have acquired the services of some very good players but the way in which you intend to fund these and the stadium is of grave concern and is one of the main reasons David Moores felt he had to sell the club in the first place and I'm sure the irony is lost on you.
I hope you understand that there is very little you can do to appease then fans except selling the Club.
**** knows if that'll have any effect, sounds a bit gay when I read it again, anyway it's winging it's way to the **** wit now.Last edited by redblood; 21-01-08, 03:36 AM.

Thanks for understanding, Paul. As far as the debt issue, the media has been very unfair and greatly exaggerated the situation. I can promise you that our family wants nothing but the absolute best for LFC, and we want a successful future for the finest club in the world.
Take care and dont hesitate to contact me,

My reply : (going the diplomatic route again to see if we can get somewhere)
Thanks for taking the time to reply Bradley, it is much appreciated.
Communication has been the biggest problem here, you have to see it through the eyes of a Liverpool fan. If you are aware of what happened with Leeds United then you will understand why alarm bells start ringing in the minds of Liverpool fans when we find out your bank loans are being placed on the club rather than yourselves.
Surely the second you (not you personally but your family.) decided you WERE going to place the debt onto the club, completely against the statements you made when purchasing LFC, you should have come out and publicly spoken to the Liverpool fans and explained exactly why you had gone back on your word and also exactly why putting the debt onto the club would be in Liverpools best interests and not just your family`s interests.
You have done nothing of the sort though and things like this is what has created this "them and us" situation. The constant tit for tat with rafa (the best football manager in the world today) has not been exactly the greatest way to endear yourself to the fans either.
We just want honesty and communication, not hot air. Without trying to sound disrespectful, american culture seems to embrace dramatic empty statements with no substance. Liverpool as a city has no time whatsoever for these acts. It is a working class city where you dont bull****, you say what you mean.
I understand the media are stirring the **** (english expression) better than anyone. I was at hillsborough when 96 Liverpool fans died. Do a bit of research and you will find that Liverpool fans despise and distrust most media due to the lies spoken in the media after this tragedy. BUT you need to explain EXACTLY what is going on financially and what your plans are for this club. No more hot air, just speak the truth.
We deserve to be treated better than we have done.
Sincerely,
Paul Cooper.

I`m made up with him kev. He is sticking his head above the bunkers and seeing whats out there. His dad could do with taking a leaf out of his book.Originally posted by Revo View Postcoops i would just add if he can pass this information on or put you in touch with his father it would be more appropiate. i think the kid shouldent have to go thru this myself but fair play to him for standing up like
Ive asked Mr M to remove all traces of his e-mail address from this thread (even though its only come about cos softlad here has c&p`ed it with the e-mail replies
) because if he is bombarded with e-mails, abusive or non-abusive, we may lose him. And it seems this is our only chance of finding out exactly what the **** is going on instead of relying on the ****-stirring media or even worse, Rashid.

I got a reply from Hicks. He said they would be backing Rafa for years to come and that they would fund the 20m $ players we need. He said it's difficult at the moment because of the exchange rate but his economists said the rate will reduce in time for the summer transfer window.
