on the face of things we probably havent really added any real investment to the squad for the last 2 transfer windows. When rafa did spend a decent amount we finished second.

we need to be adding at least 20m worth of talent to what we already have every season so that the likes of degen and voronin are a distant yet painful memory.

I have thought about this mate and to a degree I think you are right.

When you compare all the first elevens of the top 7 clubs we are at worst the third best side, imo we are the best.

BUT when you compare the squads of the top7 it becomes very clear that ours is reflected in our current league position. I am not saying Rafa is completely infallible by any means but lets look at the facts here. We sold our midfield general in the Summer for 40 million quid and spent a measly 5 million(apparently) up front on Aquiliani. The squad has been affected by that although I do agree that Rafa should be getting more out of what hes got.

TOM HICKS JR has apologised to a Liverpool supporter after he was accused of sending an abusive email.

The Dallas based Liverpool director and son of co-owner Tom Hicks Senior was contacted by Stephen Horner, a concerned fan, who emailed him an extract of a Liverpool Echo article published this weekend.

The extract contained a series of points raised in the Football Echo's Blood Red Column this weekend. The article analysed and explored the challenges facing Rafa Benitez.

But just before 4am in Texas yesterday (10am in England), Hicks Jr sent one reply calling Mr Horner “an idiot”.

He then sent another email – this time with Liverpool’s financial and commercial directors Philip Nash and Ian Ayre copied in – which told Horner: “Blow me f*** face. Go to Hell. I’m sick of you.”

Mr Horner says he was shocked by the outburst but late last night, he was again contacted by Hicks Jr, this time to say sorry for the incident.

The email read: “Stephen, I apologize for losing my temper and using bad language with you. It was a kneejerk reaction. Tommy”

Who have villa strengthened with? They lost Barry, supposedly their best player.

The current squad is in the top 4 in terms of quality. If that squad does not finish in the top 4, then it is the manager's fault.

I think a fit squad that is definitely true (and it is possible that our injuries are related to something Rafa did I guess) but I really think that having so many key players out when trying to get over the loss of Alonso has cost us and is not 100% Rafa's fault. It could however have been less of a problem if we had more money allowing us to have a deeper squad.

Seems strange why he would copy Nash and Ayre in on this..

It's almost as if SOS have hacked his email account to cause more grief.

Hicks Jr should resign immediately, that kind of behaviour would bring a bad rep and embarassment to any business.
