The debt hasn't hindered man utd in any way at all. You seem more concerned for the manager than you are for the club. I'm with the players in that no one person is bigger than the club - that includes the manager (whom I happen to massive fan of).
Why would they do anything detrimental to the club when they've invested so much as it would only lower the value if/when they decide to sell up? The problem with most bandwagon followers, yourself included, is that you believe all the gossip and tabloid crap which you choose as long as it fits your agenda, whatever that may be. Mix that in with the "expertise" of the forums finance and investment geniuses (ie google warriors) and you;re bound to come to some very bizzare and contradicting ideas as to what is going to happen.
I don;t care who own or manages the club as long as we're successful. All I'm saying is let's wait and see how things materialise before taking drastic steps, getting wound up, and staying up away from the club.

There is some sense in what he is saying though. There is no sense in us as fans say boycotting games or not buying tickets as this weakens the club we love at least as much as it does the owners independently of that. I'm all for positive support of Rafa and showing disquiet but there is an element of cutting your nose of to spite your face about some of the suggestions around here.

The debt thing is a problem. It has been mentioned that deal United did has not significantly hurt them but then - they already have a stadium and we need to buy one which makes the repayments a bigger risk for us. Also the fact is that we would be taking out the loans at a terrible time - the chances of us getting as good rates as the Glazers did are small.

It is a real dilema as to how to proceed. I have to say I'm still somewhat in the balance with respect to our owners in that as yet I don't think they have commited any terrible crimes against the club that I have genuine evidence of and they have provided a solid summer of transfers. They have however created a PR disaster and it appears a bad feeling around the team and club more generally.

If they do load debt onto the club in an unsustainable way then I think they will deserve all the hatred they are recieving but until that becomes clear or they fail for a substantial period of time to progress the new stadium then I will give them my qualified support as they are after all the owners of 'my' club.

How about a peaceful but noisy protest outside the American embassy - something that will make the headlines in the USA?

We could also start communicating with local Texas newspapers and try to bring a level of embarassment to Hicks in his own back yard. Let's try and damage his business reputation at home.

Right back to actions, I there are two options

                          1. Boycott hit them in the pocket, they will understand that language
                          2. The nasty option, give them the sort of abuse we used to give Beckham and Posh Spice that made him ban her from Anfield. I think those Americans (especially those wealthy ones) would be well shook up if 40,000 fans abuse them and their family.
If you hit them in the pocket you hit LFC in the pocket. Less for transfers etc etc. Doesn't make any sense at all.
