OK so we can put the idea that our supporters have been racist to one side now as Alex has admitted that was a mistake.

I hardly think you can accuse the fans (majority anyway) of not supporting the team or the manager in recent times. I've never known a reaction to the Rafa rumours like that before. It's precisely because of our support for the manager that the suits are getting the abuse, they've undermined him publically, they've undermined him professionally.

This "known as the most knowledgable" stuff is a complete myth. I don't know where it comes from but it was around when we were beating all domestically and in Europe. It's easy to be supportive and diplomatic when you cane everyone. In short, I know fans of rival teams who's football knowledge is positively encyclopedic, I know fans of rival team who understand the game better than Wenger. It's a myth.

I was all for singing Rafas name insted of YNWA a while back, but i do not think a protest against businessmen is the right thing for the players on the pitch. As ive said, i watch to support the lads, not to protest the owners
My understanding is there will be a protest in the early part of the game followed by the usual quiet support of the team for the rest of it. What's wrong with that?

Bloody hell, the bloke made a perfectly reasonable comment and everyone tells him to **** off?! Some people need to get a bloody grip and stop being so aggressive.

This is nitpicking if ever I saw it.

I don't think anyone has though, have they?

You need to be very careful when labeling a large number of people as racist.

He used the wrong word, now we're discussing the rest of the post.

I just think over the last month our supporters have been more consumed with the whole affair than matters on the pitch. It seems that all thats spoken about in forums, not just this one are mainly focused on the americans. I just prefer more discussion on formations and reasons the team isnt, or is performing well. I applud the support for the manager, but sometimes i think its also used as a way to get at the owners.

Fair enough it could be called a myth. But im pround to be a knowledgeable fan of liverpool. My friedns that support the team all know what there talking about aswell. I think it probebly comes down to the fact that liverpool dosnt have many of these so called "Plastic fans". The likes of Manu and Chelse have all had recesnt sucess and have alot of people supporting them for that reason

I didnt realise this as i was told it was an all ame thing. So youve got me there.

I don't know where all of you live. If you actually lived in this country you would all know why the liberal and thoughtless use of the word racist pisses an awful lot of people off.

Because I know what he means and i'm not so pedantic that I have to start pulling him apart because of it. Racist may have been too strong a term yes, but anyone with half a brain knew what he meant.
