Finally unveiling plans is not enough for me now. We've done that once. I want work to start.

They have done a bad PR job but I think Rafa has to take some of the blame for the way we have become viewed in the press. It is always difficult the transition of an institution like a football club to new owners. In general it is made much easier if the ownership and all the management alter at the same time. It is clear that there have been problems between the football and business sides of LFC and they have been handled very badly.

However a lot of the crimes of G&H remain the object of considerable conjecture and I think depending on what the real situation is they could turn things around in terms of how they are viewed. That said I have my doubts they are capable of doing what they say they can/will and they do need to start acting like grown men with a well thoughtout long term plan.
I agree things have been handled badly from a PR perspective, I also accept that most of what's been going is the subject of conjecture. But what they have done proves to me they have no appreciation for the values of the club.

Can you ever remember our club having so much uncertainty over it? We've always been a club that goes about our business quietly. Our chairmen have not tended to go on tv waving dollars in front of the cameras, they have not intended to use our club to subsidise their other business. They have not publicly rebuked and humiliated managers either.

We know for certain they have maneuvered against Rafa, they tried to replace a revered, respected and highly successful manager, a fan's favourite, with a complete novice - suicidal move IMO. I think they would have sacked Rafa if we failed to beat Marseille, - a completely preposterous notion when you consider the success he has had in the same competition in 4 years at the club, turning us into a European heavyweight, something which you will agree looked impossible when he took over in 2004. I think the only thing that has kept Rafa in the job thus far is fear of a fan's backlash. I also think for all the talk of backing him, they don't wnat him at the club long term and have no intention of backing him. I think they feel he is too much trouble for them and they want a no mark, spineless manager who will toe the party line, someone who will not kick up a fuss when promises of funding are broken.

For me it is too far gone. What they have done proves to me they are no "custodians". they are in it for profit. They are running rip-shod over our club. There is no way back from then.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Unfortunately i feel some of that will happen, not the 'their own 50m' bit or the new Rafa contract, but certainly the stadium and refinance of debts. I am sure they will also harp on about Torres, Babel and Skrtl and say more funds will be made available in the summer (not enough funds though that can compete with the big 3)

No. The club would still be left without a pot to piss in for transfers.

Nope...they have lied to many times.

I think they will come out soon with this big showy PR campain, but i dont think they understand the people who they are dealing with. IMO i dont think they will ever be forgiven by the scousers.

Playing Devils Advocate here, would ANY football club owners give a public guarantee and a contract extension to a manager in his 4th season, who has spent lots of money and is currently out of a CL position and light years (in terms of points) away from the title chasers?

I`m not sure ANY owner would do such a thing. Even Moores wouldnt have done that, and he`s as RED as any of us.

(Before anybody goes nuts, I`m pro-Rafa. I`m just trying to think of it from a club owners point of view).

**** em - they don't want a manager they want a mute puppet to oversee us struggling to make the UEFA Cup, taking the Carling Cup as our most realistic route into Europe while Man City, Newcastle et all out spend us and overtake us in the League.
Still, might make it easier for me to get a season ticket!

The club's best bet is if Hicks and Gillett don't manage to refinance.

If they do, we're stuck with them. We'll have no money for transfers, we'll have to buy to sell, much like we did under Moores. As for the stadium, don't be surprised if we see the plans downscaled again.

On the plus side, we might be able to replace Rafa with Sam Allardyce - Then we'd have the two fattest heads in football

What about Steve Bruce? I've taken to calling him the "blue bloater."

Anyway, G&H have done a very poor job thus far running the club (or franchise, as they like to call us), and that's why I would be dismayed if they tie up this refinancing and we have to live with them at least a while longer. Simply taking up as much extra time as they did to do this big stadium redesign that never would have been built due to cost underscores their incompetence.

I could care less that they're in it for money. Do you think Malcolm Glazer gives a **** about football? I certainly do not. But, he understands that financial success is linked to success on the pitch, and Ferguson got to spend God knows how much money on Anderson, Nani, Hargreaves and Tevez after winning the league title.

G&H, meanwhile, have undermined the manager, alienated the fans, caused further delays in construction of the new stadium (which will undoubtedly increase costs), and saddled the club with a ton of debt. Moreover, as we are on track to play in the UEFA Cup next year, our turnover will, no doubt, be significantly lower, as will our ability to attract top players. Now, I believe that Rafa has to accept his share of the blame for our poor season, but what manager worth his salt would come to LFC and work for these clowns, after seeing what Rafa's had to go through?

These guys have got to go. Perhaps Rafa does as well (he should absolutely get the sack if we finish outside the top four), but our club will continue on a downward path until G&H are gone.

I agree with you, but I think negotiating a new contract with him is the only way now that they will put an end to the damaging rumours that Rafa is leaving in the summer. It's sapping morale, and needs to be ended quickly.

No, for the simple reason that I don't believe anything their PR machine spews out anymore.

6-12 months down the line and they've stuck to it then I may warm to them slightly but it's a long way back for there lying barstewards now.

Yes. But only IF they follow through with what is put on the table.
