How optimistic are you?

Whether you're a glass half full or half empty person, if you're being as realistic and truthfull as possible, how optimistic are you about the future of Liverpool FC.

I don't know if it's just me, but i've got this overwhelming feeling of dread when thinking about the next few months of our great club. I'm normally quite an optimistic guy, but in the next few months we could/will see all of:

Club loaded with debt (no matter what the yanks say)
Mascherano gone
Rafa gone
No decent money for transfers (using this window as an indicator)
A stadium design we may/may not like
Continued disquiet at the club as fans refuse to back the owners
More debt heaped on the club when we need to start financing the stadium
The possible exit of some of our spanish players
The begining of a few more years of transition as a new manager builds his side

Of course the oposite could happen in every case, but it doesn't seem likely to me, but that might just be because of the general mood around the club at the moment.

Maybe we could just use this thread to air all our general grievances

I'm a realist, and a cynic.

Neither an optimist or a pessimist.

I expect things to carry on in the same vein as the last 5 years or so with H&G.
If we're ever going to challenge for the title it'll take soething revolutionary, either rich as **** owners or an Arsene Wenger like manager.

We are slowly becoming a middle of the table kinda team like Villa, Everton, Spurs

4th place is what we really play for each year

At the moment it's a top 3 not 4, and then you have the second tier 4 Us Villa Everton Man City. And the worrying thing is Villa and Man City will prob have alot more money for transfers then us. Spurs under Ramos will be a decent side next season. To many clubs are moving forward and it just looks at the min as if LFC is moving backwards. I really hope we're all proved wrong and things work out

I still think that DIC will buy the club.

It's the way the debt is split up in that is the main reason to why I still believe that they will buy us.

No matter who takes over LFC has changed from what we all know and it's a case of a choice between the devil and the deep blue sea from here on in until we get the right owners,whoever they may be.

I don't worry very much about anything to be honest, not my nature, it just makes sad really that our great club is being turned into a laughing stock, and there's no one really at the top with the club and the fans best interests at heart, for it's first time in its exisitence. That bothers me, somewhat

Worry about appearance, worry about being late, worry about what I'm going to do at the weekend, eorry about LFC, worry about work, worry about other people.

I realised I could spend my whole life worrying about stuff. **** that, worrying doesn't bring anything positive with it so I've given it up.

Excuse me for trying to be a bit more optimistic ...

1. Not so much debt as people think right now. Could change as the refinance doesn't pay for the stadium. But a long mortgage, naming rights and £1m extra revenue a home match probably will
2. Has he? I get the impression he will stay if we pay for him. Why we selling Momo if Masher is also due to leave?
3. We will judge at the end of the season, but 2 good cup runs and a strong run in the Premiership to get 4th will probably keep his job. The yanks are stoopid but not that stoopid. No matter what Hicks is capable of.
4. We've broken our transfer record on a defender this transfer window. What do you want?
5. Looks OK to me. Not that different from the original HKS plans that everyone was raving about. In fact I think it looks pretty good. Why didn't they do this design in the first place?
6. If G&H shut up, make peace with Rafa and offer him a new contract, everything will quieten down considerably. But that new contract does appear unlikely.

8. May be if Rafa goes. May be not. It depends who they bring in. Also, Torres has 5 1/2 years of a contract to run. I'd be surprised if he went anywhere and if he did it would be for obscene money. Reina and Alonso are replaceable, but I wouldn't like them to leave, especially Reina.
9. Is Avram Grant rebuilding? You don't gut a good team. Rafa stripped Houlliers squad because it was ****e. But Rafa's isn't.

Things certainly don't look to clever at the moment but I remain optimistic that this mess can be sorted out to a reasonable extent in the long term.

It's difficult to see how this is going to pan out because I think that as of this moment anything can happen.
