          The debate was about whether Mascherano was worth £17m and I said that he is the best in the business at the 'Makalele' role in front of the defence as he is a superb tackler and his short passing game is excellent. However, he is not a world class complete midfielder and is sadly lacking going forward. Let's be honest, how many goals has he created or scored?

          We 'Havant' got £17m to throw at an average midfielder like the Mancs did with Carrick & Hargreaves and for that sort of money we need a top creative player far more than another defensive midfielder - however good he is in that role.

          Perhaps you should read the original post and thread before jumping in with your size 9 stilletos...
