id have to agree. Think he has not looked upto much at all. Granted does not get the games. Reason being is he is not upto scratch. Just like many of the players to be fair.

Finnan is a much better player than that performance showed.

Its a different thread, but I don't think Rafa has ever rated Finnan, or at least, has always been looking for a different option there.

He was after Alves forever. There was a lot of assumption he as intended for RW. I don't think so. Then he's tried Josemi. Kronkamp and now Arbeloa there.

The same pretty much applies to Riise on the other side too.

The problem has been that we've never spent the money, or picked exactly the right player. And its difficult to see how we're going to get to. Arbeloa looks a very handy utility defender. I'm not sure he's my ideal right back though. Maybe he will become so, but I dunno.

Lucas was better than Mascherano today

Finnan has been poor all season.

He may regain his form but the way he's playing at the moment I can see why some may reach the conclusion that he is past his best.

It's a view that I have been coming around to more and more recently.

Lucas hit some really nice passes today and his goal was the sort of thing Mascher will never ever do in a red shirt - or Momo for that matter.

              Needs more games though.

Hopefully he will get more games in the second half of the season once Momo completes his move away from Anfield.

I thought Lucas looked good today and his goal was excellent.

He will benefit with more game time but he is probably one of only a couple that didn't let himself down today.
Twin boys - now arriving late August 2008.

Its gonna be Fernando and Gerrard if I get my way!

I can't believe people are saying Lucas is rubbish, when he was the only player on the pitch today who could pass the ball around and scored a ****ing awesome goal. On the other hand, no one says anything about Mascherano, whose pussy-girlish-poofy shots wouldn't even kill a thin arsed fly. Havant's GK was happy to play a few "one-twos" with Mascherano today.

Graham Norton has a better shot on him than Mascher on todays evidence.

Lucas has got promise, but he's been a mixed bag so far and it'll take a lot more to convince me that this is Gerrards heir we're talking about.

As for Finnan, I do agree that he's done at this level - he's been very poor all season. It's no coincidence he's just retired from international football.

i'd loan him out to somewhere like wigan for the rest of the season. localish premiership team where he'd get games. not doubting his class but the lad isn't really gonna get ahead of masch, alonso or gerrard enough times this season.

it's clear his form is suffering - possibly from the lack of consistent games

Of course we need to be patient, but so far I dont think he's anything special.
