There was a fair amount of it.

I wasn't at the ground, watched the match online, but it was fairly audible from the stream I was watching.

To be honest, I don't like it but lets be really blunt here. The match is bloody expensive these days.

Its not a case of a quid on the Kop. Its a MAJOR MAJOR expensive.

It costs 3 times more to watch Liverpool than it does to go and see one of my favourite bands.

Which isn't how it used to be.

And I know that when I go to see my favourite band I have a ****in good time. Mega mega fun.

But the players are now on 50 to 100k a WEEK, yes a WEEK, think about it. And we're paying £36 per game.

No matter that there's queues of people who'd take my place cos that's beside the point. Whoever is in that stadium has typically made a major financial sacrifice to be there.

So its inevitable that our tolerance levels of non triers (especially ones who will make more for that half hearted performance that is irritating us than we will make in about 5 years of day in day out work) is much much lower these days.

I've been to gigs where the crowd turned on the act they came to see, and they were paying much less and the act was earning nowhere for that performance than a Liverpool player does.

If they want to crank up their earnings to the point where going the game is such a massive financial commitment, then they're upping the stakes to the point where we start demanding more for our money.

You can't expect the old days of solidarity and sticking together when you've got a multimillionaire taking the piss out of you when the price of the entry ticket means this might be your only night out all month.

If someone is cheating you and ripping you off, you boo.

If we're just customers now it's inevitable.

If they want us to behave more loyally, perhaps the ****ers should realise that it works two ways.

I don't like to hear booing because I'm old enough to remember the way it was. But they changed the way it was not us.

And if booing happens now then so be it. How can I condemn someone who has spent their last penny to watch eleven millionaires not turn up should they decide to boo the cheeky *******s.

Boo away if you want to. If they ever lower the prices to make the match affordable again, then I'll start demanding the old loyalties I was brought up with. Until then, if you're gonna squeeze us til our pips squeak, then expect it if you can't be arsed pulling your tripe out.

Can you blame them, we were losing to a non-league team at half time at home. I'd be ****ing booing if I was there!!

It's not the Liverpool way to screw your fans into the ground financially either. But it happens, and it changes that contract between the players and the supporters.

If a footballer expects 50k to 75k per week then I will expect that their performance matches it. So take a pay cut or accept the stick.

When they're loyal to you then you're loyal back. The Liverpool Way is a distant memory to be fair. It's something that us fans continue but its a one way street these days.

Lets be honest, if footballers were paid a sensible wage, then ticket prices would be cheaper and there'd be no problem in telling someone to piss off for booing.

I know people for whom going the match is so expensive that thats it for their leisure. A half hearted 0-0 in the cold with little to get excited about is their ENTIRE leisure budget.

Why shouldn't they boo at the overpaid ****s delivering that if they want to. You would if you got that treatment anywhere else.

I don't like it, but it's going to happen these days unless ticket prices become affordable again. Until they do, boo away with my blessing.

Boo at the end of the match, not at half time.

I love this Istanbul legend, we were all so happy and determined at half time and we belted out a roaring rendition of YNWA, bollocks! I was there and there were plenty of people booing and moaning like ****, people left ffs, if i had a way of getting back to the airport i would have ****in gone too.
People get pissed off when they fork out to be subjected to ****e, i didnt boo yesterday and never do, i was pissin myself laffin yesterday cos i really didnt know what else to do! If people want to vent thier frustrations then so be it how else will the non performing players know they are playing ****e?
All this Liverpool way thing is a myth, there has always been detraction at Anfield, anyone else remember when Carra used to get slated?

For the bloke shaking his head on the fist post of the thread- read this scoreline. . . read it again and again and again and tell me you weren't embarressed yesterday when this flashed up "Liverpool 1 v 2 Havant and Waterlooville"- If thats not worth getting pissed off about then i don't know what is.

Listen- it's not demorilising. Even at grassroots level- if you've had a **** first half you get a bollocking. Not quite booing from 45,000 people but you still get subjected to some sort of Verbal abuse weather it be from the manager, the parents watching or even the other team taking the piss!

If you getting paid £30k a week (Riise you greedy little **** house) then a bit of booing should indicate to you that your not pulling your weight and you need a size nine shoe right up the arse. Instead of putting your head down and thinking "oh god the fans hate me, what ever shall i do?" why not go in at half time, quick drink and then start thinking "they were booing- i wonder why? Oh yeah we've been appalling. Right sleeves up head up 45minutes more, lets make them stop booing and make them happy" it's utter ****e the players get demoralised. if they are, then they aren't worth the time of day!

                          .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

How can i be so sure?

Well in days gone by (and god am i getting ****in bored of talking about these) there was a connection between the fans and players- you'd frequently see players having a bevvie in town or around the ground. If you read books by the fans on Euro aways the fans and players used to travel on the same plane half the time with the fans frequently mingling with the players and having a bit of banter. Why do you think there's more legends in the past and why fans from the generation before mine adore players like Dalglish, Rush, Thompson etc- I mean FFS Thommo took that big eared Beauty into his local in Kirkby. If thos eplayers got booed it probably hurt a lot- it wasn't just 11 players on a pitch- these players where friends of the fans and new what life was like for them.

Look at them now- They don't have a clue. Do you think they're THAT arsed when they get booed off, or when they're hauled off after a terrible performance. Do you also think our captains in the past would have flirted outrageously with one of our main rivals for two consecutive summers- not only that a captain who's a native of the club and city?

I suppose the correct answer is mate I can't be sure but i've got a pretty good ****ing Idea. Last year in Barcelona Alonso had three people around him telling me to **** off while I approached him for nothing more than an autograph. i certainly won't blame Xabi for that but you get my drift- these ****ers are spoilt brats who need a reality check!
