Doesn't matter to me if HKS is based in Texas...their design is better, period. I agree with ShaggyAlonso, AFL basically just jazzed up the exterior of the stadium, added a couple of arches, and made one of the ends a single tier. But it still has a cookie-cutter appearance.
The HKS design, while not as inspiring as the original, is still unlike any other football ground in the world. I like the idea of having a unique stadium, one with a striking modern exterior design, but on the inside still has a feel of four separate stands, and an asymmetrical design, maintaining some of the feel of an old-fashioned football ground. I do have one concern, though, and that is whether the roof will allow sufficient sunlight to maintain the pitch in satisfactory condition.
