Yup he's no.2. The difference now though is that we have some real quality in the squad. Gerrard, Alonso, Mascherano, Torres, Carragher, Crouch, Babel, Carson, Agger and Reina could all fetch at least 10 million quid. Gerrard and Torres would be in the 30 million plus bracket...

That was tied in with the Torres deal though I reckon. £18-20mil for Torres was very low just as £4mil for Luis was very low so I think some sort of deal was made.

it has been suggested the deal was separate to ttorres

luis wanted to bring up/school his children in spain and having played for atletico before it made sense to return there.

if he had wanted to stay in england i doubt he'd have been sold

Regardless of any genuine medical condition Collymore was a prized pratt before we signed him and remains a tool to this day. He had little or no respect for a manager that did absolutely everything to help him and betrayed him in the cruelest of ways. I'm not calling him a head case as I do think he's had genuine psychiatric problems but that doesn't mean you can't call him a dick head if that's what he is, ill or not.

Yeah I agree that he was sold because he wanted to go to Spain, not just to lure Torres, but as Nando was coming to Anfield anyway lowering both fees may have had tax advantages for both sides etc (I'm no expert).

He was a good player for us and formed a lethal partnership with Fowler, but listening to him commentate on the Reading defeat and reading his column in The Mirror has but me off him. He talks ****e.

Back on topic, can't believe we got £7.5m for Bellamy

                        You're both right.
                        .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

                            Bellamy for £7.5m ... amazing

When you add up all of Rafa's sales it comes to £48.2m ...... that is very un-liverpool like!

In years gone by we would have given that lot away to be nice to either the buying club or the player himself! lol

Alleged 'mental conditions' is no a catch-all excuse to satisfy all examples of ego-tistical, woman-beating behavious and betrayals and adisgraceful and lazy attitude! 'I'm not well in the 'ead' doesn't wash whatsoever to excuse you in being a ****** that let a lot of people down.
