I dont think there's any way they will get 100,000 people to donate £5k each. But if by some miracle they manage it, then what? THey buy the club for £500m, that's £500m going straight to the Americans, and is probably a lot more than what the club is worth. Who's going to run the club? Is the club going to able to make money and be self-sustaining? Because I can't see 100,000 people being rich benefactors and putting £10m in here and there in the way Moores did so we could buy Kuyt. I'd very interested in hearing their proposals on this.

That's what I've been thinking. The club gets bought, but what about cash injections for buying players and all the rest that comes with it.

Realistically, you might - at a push - get the equivalent of 10,000 punters paying 5K. You therefore need some major investors to contribute the remaining £450m

I also don't see how it would appeal to those people with millions spare to invest?! They'd just create a mega-consortium anyway?

Presumably, the scale of this is many multiples of when Barcelona started off?! Long story short - brilliant idea, but non-starter.

okay so following on from another thread, but there is talk of allowing groups, families, websites etc to purchase shares in this new fans initiative to buy the club from G & H.

Now of course there will be many on here who will probably want to buy their own shares if this was to come about, but who on here would be up for putting into an est1892 share?

Obviously there's still lots to talk about like agreeing amounts etc, and hopefully we'll hear more after 5pm today, but it does sound slightly intriguing if it all works don't you think?

It is hard enough getting people to put some cash down for EST to stay alive with out those adverts appearing, let alone getting 5k together for a share!

no chance. i'll want to use my share to get rid of kuyt, pennant, riise, voronin and stop us ever buying the likes of leto, palletta, nunez ... well u get the picture.
