Oh deffo, no way we would drop him, form or no form or moaning or not. I just wish he'd stop whinging sometimes.

I have to laugh when I see the dirty looks he gives Kuyt though. His face says that he thinks Kuyt is pure and utter ****e. I suppose he can't be blamed sometimes for a little moan when all his good work is undone by Kuyt or Voronin tackling themselves.

He seems to be acting the primma donna as much as anyone else at the mo. His comments last week, blaming poor form on the board room upbheaval (even if true) like a little school boy making up excuses when he does something wrong was embarrassing. he needs to be the first to have a long hard look at himself.

As cobain said, the only players who look bothered, and upset when we lose is Kuyt and Carra.

What people sometimes need to understand is that not everyone can be held to these lofty ideals. So Gerrard isn't the selfless, heroic captain everyone wants. Things could be worse... he's an amazing player.

It's up to the manager to handle 'difficult' characters and get the best out of them. And let's be honest, a lot of the worlds best players are difficult to manage.

Maybe we should worry more about a players ability on the pitch as opposed to the way they come off in the media...

Damn right. Especially when he has still been one of our better players.

And despite everything you all say, I bet you would all play him v Inter if that game was tomorrow. And also despite everything you say, If someone told you a Liverpool player had done a bit of Magic in the last minute to save our skins, you would say "Gerrard or Torres?"

I'm not saying he is at his best, but Gerrard at 60% is better than the majority of what we have. Especially when we don't have one other midfielder playing great, never mind two to keep him out the team.

His attitude and body language stinks. Also picks his moments in games, not at the races for the full ninety minutes. Not really good enough that imo.

Class player. Deserves to be captain for saving us so many times. Doesnt deserve to be dropped. What he needs is to be played alongside good players. Cant blame him for being pissed off when he has Kuyt running about like a donkey infront of him and every time he lays the ball to him the donkey ****s up.

Not to mention Kewell the **** doing nothing to help

Gerrard can sulk at times but you cant blame him. He cant save us every week

If it was any other player of Gerrard's calibre I'd agree with you, but when it's the captain, whose job it is to lift the team in hard times, I cant accept him sulking about and being moody. He has a responsibility as captain that should preclude him from skulking around like a petulant child, he needs to start thinking about the teamates who he needs to encourage, not get on their backs.

I was talking to some Scottish fella who was a youth/reserve player at Celtic in the day of Jock Stein. He told me Jock Stein would pick the team, do teamtalks before the game and at half time, but during the game he would do nothing, no instructions, not even make substitutions. He left all that to his captain (Billy McNeil I think) who would apparently pull all the strings, he was literally the manager on the pitch, he would get players organised, knew what players had to come off, knew what changes needed to be made, would encourage players, was basically a real team player. Gerrard as a captain is a million miles away from that.

This guy also told me King Kenny was a selfish petulant arsehole at Celtic apparently, thought he was a star player. Wasn't much liked there. Not sure how true any of that is

stick him on the right....or further up
is is the best for the team
when he plays central, especially with Mascher, he comes too deep to dictate play
this is not his strong suit, and it also robs us of one more dynamic player offering movement ahead of the midfield

                    if he sulks, sell him

no player is bigger than the club

do you honestly think the past LFC legend managers would let a player decide where he plays or not?

****ing prick, he needs to be dropped the ****. I am getting sick to death of watching his ****e performances. Everyone seems to have a go at Kuyt, Kewell etc but our captain has been piss poor for for a few weeks now and doesn't seem interested. On current form he isn't fit to captain our club.

Sorry if my reaction seems over the top but he really has been pissing me off for a while but Ive kept my mouth shut. Those muppets who want come on here and remind me how Gerrardsaved us many times in the league and cl better shut the **** up because I don't need reminding. :whatever:That is history, I am talking about NOW baby.

Drop him Rafa and tell the prick some home truths.
Agreed to most, just not drop him, stick him on the right.

He needs a kick up the arse, as do a few others.

HAND THE CAPTAINCY OVER TO CARRA AND BENCH GERRARD! That's the first thing I'd do if I was Rafa.

Gerrard's poor performances are not a problem by themselvs but it makes the team play bad. When he is ****e our whole midfield is ****e (currently it's ****e with or without him).

He can do great things for the team but when he plays bad it's not a 0 for his contribution, its -5.

I don't have the "solution" anywas. I would bench him but the only positive from that could be an improvement in his form, cus all other players are also very bad imo.

                            Woah.

In a less aggressive way, I agree to a certain extent. Definitely don't think he's captain material.
