    THAT's more important.

Cider, without a doubt. And unless you are one of our American brethren, it's 'tonight.'

I don't know if I could ever warm to him, whatever he did. For me, part of the pride in being a scouser and life-long supporter is the 'class' for want of a better word that's until now, always been associated with the club. Maybe he would bring us 19, and the rest, but I can't stand the 'orrible little oik.

JM's currently 9/4 fav with Paddy Power to be our next manager with Hiddink 9/1. It's a distinct possibility. For all your gesturing and posturing re Mourinho are you lot honestly saying you're not gonna support him or the club should he become our manager this summer? Lots off egg on a lot of faces coming up IMHO.
I have one word to offer - honesty. I couldn't be devious if I tried. Joe Fagan.

I've asked this question many times on different forums - is being supremely confident in yourself such a bad thing? The guy thinks he's special and I don't doubt him to be honest. Ok, he's a 'tool' of the highest calibre and he's up there with Gary Neville, Paul Merson and Andy Gray as 'tools' go but the guy exudes confidence in everything he does.

In a way he's very very slightly 'Shankleyesque' in the way he makes his players think they are bulletproof and they go out there to win each and every game. Whats more they go out there to try and win by a few goals (not get one and then defend like we do). Maybe if some of that charisma and self confidence rubbed off on our piss poor performers it would give them the belief they are so sadly lacking. Let's face it guys, there will never ever be another Bill Shankly or Sir Bob! These two guys were from the same mould and that mould has long been broken. I want someone in charge of our team who knows his best 11 and doesn't **** around tinkering all the time. Unfortunately, Jose Mourinho is that man.

I await the hate mail and flaming

The sight of the title of this thread on the board makes me sick.

This man does not have the class and dignity to manage our club.

The special one already manages our club.

No he doesn't. Special is not langusihing 17 points behind the leaders by the start of february. Nor is it continually making absolutely baffling team selections that are continually costing us points.

As for Dignity and class, well they don't seem to be getting us very far at the moment, come to think about it it hasn't done us that many favours since Kenny left. It's been 19 years since we looked like winning the league.

Ferguson, dignity and class- NONE, Mourinho, dignity and class- NONE

League titles. . . Well two in three years isn't bad and just ask any united fans how gutted they are that no one thinks there manager is a nice guy with dignity and class. The answer will be a resounding NONE!

Lets face it, the heart and soul of the club have gone and had gone as soon as the yanks took over, so we don't need to worry about that going anymore, we don't play football the liverpool way anymore, so no worries there, most of the fans are a disgrace and don't behave in the Liverpool way so another one off the list so why not just go and get someone who exudes confidence and has the arrogance and and ability to win trophies.

We can't have it both ways with Rafa- Everyone keeps saying we've got a great squad full of quality and if we're right he's not getting the best out of them and if it's just the fact that we're wrong and our squad is not that good then again, the blame falls at Benitez because going into the final stretch of season number 4 that squad is now his. If those players aren't good enough (and evidentally some aren't) that his responsibility.

Anyone flaming an opinion is an arse!

Yes he's a confident, cocky, and arrogant *******, no doubt. My scrotum does shrivel slightly, however, at the comparison to Shanks. Sir Shanks was working in a different era - when he went home after we'd lost he cleaned the oven! You could bump into players in the pub - they lived in houses like the one's we all lived in.

Sir Shanks was certainly a motivator, but he was unique, as you say.

Maureen may also be a motivator - but I'm sorry mate - different league. Shanks' 'front' was forthright and entertaining. He must be one of the most widely quoted and respected managers of all time. Maureen whinges and snipes.

Maureen is not fit to be part of LFC. Mind you, our owners are tossers too, and anything could happen.

I would like to see a 'stable' team selection - but...the scum rotate as much as Rafa, and...

                My head's hurting again...

You know, there is an argument around this. Rafa has had to build his team in stages - and its dependent on the money available - firstly he has to try and fill a lot of problem areas - he has only so much money - he builds for the future with youth and he gambles a few times with smaller fees (Josemi, Arbeloa, Pennant, Voronin). Where he has spent big it has almost always paid dividends. The current squad is very good - capable of the title and was perhaps headed that way - then the nonsense with the owners kicks in and we go downhill. I understand people being anti-Rafa - people have different views on rotation, tactics and many are frustrated at style of play. That's understandable. But you should not suggest that those who stand by our great manager are illogical.
I'm playing all the right notes. Not necessarily in the right order. I'll give you that, sunshine.

The only way I compared them was by saying Shanks and Moan'inho were great motivators, the similarity ends there I love Rafa to bits and hope and pray to the good Lord above that he can get it right and put us back where we belong. But sadly, the realist in me is saying that he'll never do it as long as he keeps rotating his players. They must be dizzy as **** right now being rotated so much. That's probably why he doesn't play Crouchie anymore coz he's travel sick from all the rotation

I get a tense feeling in my rectal passage every time I even contemplate the thought of Mourinho in charge at Anfield but at this moment in time i'd contemplate selling my soul to the devil to have the good old days back at Anfield with us winning titles year after year. I could suffer burning in the pits of hell for all eternity coz i'd find Paul Merson when that ****** snuffs it and beat the **** out him everyday

for a long time this season i was all for mourinho coming to anfield and replacing rafa (must have been high for a long time) but what would it acheive? jose plays the most mind-numbingly boring football known to man. the reason he was as successful as he was at chelski was down to the fact he had a great bunch of players on the pitch. he bought well as he was backed at every transfer decision he wanted to make. at liverpool he wouldn't have the same kind of backing by our owners...just like benitez. put mourinho in charge of our team (IMO not as good as the chelsea players he had when winning the league) and he would also have us 4th-7th just like rafa. rafa is a good tactician...20+ chances a match show that. the problem is our strikers (outwith torres) are ****ing rotten....i've shat better players than the crow and kyut. jose wouldn't save the day....the horrible truth is that the only ones' that can save the day for us is the players themselves and the yanks!
People who think there's no good way to die have obviously never heard the phrase 'Drug-fuelled-sex-heart-attack'.

Just because you guarantee that jose will bring it doesnt mean he actually will. I cant stand the prick, but one of the reasons I wouldnt want him (other than the obvious) is because I dont believe for one second he could win us the league unless he had a far bigger budget than his rivals.
