Not at all. I voted "it's a ****ing stupid idea", but it's so evidently ****ing stupid that I thought it didn't really require comment.

I just can't see it working - You need someone in charge - ie a President like Barca have - who is this going to be, hw are we going to vote for that - There maybe one candidate who has the financial backing but is a cunt, another candidate who says if you vote me in I will do my best to sign Snoogy Doogy despite the fact they have no contacts/money etc

I can't see how it is feesible to collect/gain £500million pounds to buy the club - come on - FIVE HUNDRED MILLION POUNDS - for ****s sake that a hell of a lot. I seriously doubt a fans group would be able to raise more than £5m in my opinion.

Who collects the money, where does it go, how will it be spent, what do i get back in return, how does it affect loyal fans who have had a season ticket for 30yrs but can't afford to pay £5000 for a share - do they just get binned off cause the self appointed bigwigs have more disposable income than them so therefore they are more important, what happens when say for example you get one or two investors who have put in half a million or more and an offer comes in for gerrard/torres etc for £30million and they want to take it or they will withdraw there money. What happens if you have one major investor who wants to sack rafa or he pulls the plug

the sheer number of people who have the potential to get involved is too vast, we are not talking about the Ebbsfleet Town scheme here that will work well as it's a tiny club that have found themselves £500000 richer - there is huge potential to create too many factions, it's like I said in the Carra's Cake thread Liverpool FC is turning into Monty Python

          They are all SPLITTERS

seriously i am gobsmacked with some liverpool fans over the last month or two - it's embarrasing and something i never thought i'd see. There is so many people who have made themselves self appointed bigwigs because they know "whats best for our club". Who do these people think they are - unfortunately i think our tag as "the best fans in the world" has seriously gone to the head of fair few deluded people

I don't know whether I am following Liverpool Football Club or Reclaim The Kop, The Sons' Of Shankly, ShareLFC, EST, Koptalk, RAWK, 6CM,TLW, The Peoples Front of Judea or The Judeans Peoples Front - one thing for sure is we all hate the Romans - and if there is one thing we hate more than them - it's the mancs

Well that's Feb's "rant of the month" award sewn up right there

              I voted 'no' as well.

              I just don't think it's workable.

The Barca and Seville models are fairly unique in world football. Barca in it's infancy did not require 100,000 Catalans to come up with euros 5000 each in order to be members. The accumulation of members was a gradual process.

The fan buy out scheme (although it's never going to happen) is far more workable than getting a bunch of loosely related people from an internet formum to hand over their hard earned cash and then trying to establish some flakely shareholder agreement to buy a 1/100000 of LFC. I'll put my money in Northern Rock thanks, much safer.

Not sure if your points are directed at the shareliverpool scheme in general or the propsect of contributing to an est share

[QUOTE=PTP;938819]I just can't see it working - You need someone in charge - ie a President like Barca have - who is this going to be, hw are we going to vote for that - There maybe one candidate who has the financial backing but is a cunt, another candidate who says if you vote me in I will do my best to sign Snoogy Doogy despite the fact they have no contacts/money etc

A board and president would be elected. You're right about choosing between the quality of candidates, they could all be utter ****e. The point is, the group of owners would get to choose and re-elect if someone did a ****e job. Imagine having that comfort at the moment, that sometime in the forseeable future there was a mechanism to remove G&H. At the momebt every single fan is powerless.

I can't see how it is feesible to collect/gain £500million pounds to buy the club - come on - FIVE HUNDRED MILLION POUNDS - for ****s sake that a hell of a lot. I seriously doubt a fans group would be able to raise more than £5m in my opinion.

You might be right, but who knows till it's been tried. However, both DIC and G&H seemed to be pretty certain that our fan base is huge, so we must stand a chance.

Bishops and high ups have been appointed to scrutinise the accounts of shareliverpool till such time ( if it ever comes) that a bid is made. Should they buy LFC the money will be spent by a board exactly as it is now. One difference, you can eventually remove that board if they're a gang of ****s.
What you get back in return isn't money, this isn't a PLC shareholding to be traded. You get to remove LFC from the clutches of business people who will never, ever understand the Liverpool Way.

The are no ticket priorties for those that buy a share. They have suggested the first 20,000 who stump up will get some sort of ticket privileges. ST holders will be unaffected.

You can pay £5k or £5m , you still only have one share and one vote. The share cannot be traded for money. Shares can only be given to someone else for face value if they don't already hold a share.

the sheer number of people who have the potential to get involved is too vast, we are not talking about the Ebbsfleet Town scheme here that will work well as it's a tiny club that have found themselves £500000 richer - there is huge potential to create too many factions, it's like I said in the Carra's Cake thread Liverpool FC is turning into Monty Python

I've never watched Monty Python, you may well be right.

                            - my post is just a pure tongue in cheek rant that has come as a result of one the most twisted 12 months i have witnessed involving a football club (including Newcastle ) - I, like many others have become disillusioned over the last few months, to a point were my head is going round in circles trying to fathom out what is happening with LFC. I am not so much as having a go at ShareLFC as such - as i believe in the argument that "At least they are trying to do something for our club" and the sentiment is in the right place.

I am just putting a light hearted spin on it, everything surrounding LFC at present - all the fansites/forums different views, sharelfc, how the media have portrayed us, Reclaim the Kop, two mates arguing over GG/Hicks in the pub - basically everything.

If i can't laugh and take the piss out of the situation I find us in - i willl cry,
