Yep. Anyone can support the club, it's their right to if they want to. The league should not be watered down the way it will be to cater for fans though. If fans want to watch teams in the EPL then they should come over here.

If we played games based on fans around the world, we'd have to play in Ireland, a couple in Scandy, God knows how many in the Far East, S Africa, Aus. We'd be lucky to get half a dozen in liverpool.

Its great that so many people abroad support the Reds but the bottom line is LFC is essentially for local people.

Liverpool FC play in Liverpool at Anfield unless they're playing away at another European club or EPL club. END OF STORY! Pre-season Tours are about taking the club on the road.

Anything else is unacceptable and nothing more than just watered down ****e that ruins the integrity of the league.

As I said before this is just another nail in the coffin of football and yet more fans who follow the team week in and week out, investing their lives and money in the club, are being alienated by greedy chairmen.

As a supporter, it's incumbent upon me to go see the team. It's not up to Liverpool FC to come to me.

            Exactly.

And what cities are going to bid for Fulham Vs Birmingham for example?

This, if it does happen, will be an unmitigated disaster.

Fans from abroad will only be interested in three or four teams meaning that other matches have no interest from fans in other countries.

It would actually be laughable if it wasn't so crass and disgusting.

having researched this a little more this is how it would work:

5 venues world wide would bid for 4 lots of 4 and one of 3 matches to be played over saturday and sunday

presumably tickets would be sold on a full weekend basis............ so birmingham v Fulham would just be part of the package.............. so what if hardly anyone is there?.............. the PL and the organizers have already had their money off the fans

its just the PL and owners making a **** load more cash at the expense of the fans
Lawrenson:"Well thats 3 good chances they have had in the first 3 minutes of this half"

Motson:"" Yes Mark, you could almost say that they have had 3 chances in as many minutes"

Lawrenson: Errr I thought I just did say that, John"

What a ****ing dumb thing to say.

Anyway - saw this from a scum fan on the Beeb site - it made me laugh:

I don't want to get embroiled in an OOT debate or anything, because I think anyone who is a red is a red and thats that.

But it's not really a dumb thing to say. Liverpool FC rests on the local community. It's where it's roots are and where it belongs, and it exists primarily for the local community.

Nobody ever set up a Liverpool football team so that people in Australia or Singapore would watch it. It was set up for local people to support. It's great that we're so famous that others love us and are adopted into the family too.

But Bob is right. The whole raison d'etre of Liverpool Football Club and the reason why it was established was to serve the people of Liverpool. We are its community and they are our team.

All others are welcome to share it too, but it must never EVER be taken from us, even if it's more profitable elsewhere.

I live in Shanghai and i guess it would be pretty cool if they brought a game out here, not a league match but just a game against a top side every once in a while.

Te whole idea is to give competetive matches to the world............. not just the odd exhibition game or tournament

these matches would all be played over the same weekend at 5 different venues

Exactly. People aren't saying that fans from around the globe aren't welcome. What they are saying though is that fans should come to Liverpool where the club is based if they want to watch matches. I'm an OOT myself but I live here. I moved here to follow the team.

When you start doing what they're planning then it just ruins everything that's been built up over the years.

                          It's a terrible idea.

It's a poor incarnation of Rugby. And I don't like Rugby either so you can see my point.

I had that super bollocks thingy on last Sunday but I was almost asleep by the time they're moved forward one yard.

To say it's boring's being kind to it. It's far worse than that!
