I'd prefer Babel or Benni or Aurelio or Riise on the left mid before I picked him.
His Ability at Leeds in Europe & in our division was'nt in doubt imo. As for no big clubs touching him i agree, but there are some RICH medium sized clubs that i believe would pay him plenty.

His performances for Australia have been fantastic over the years, Injury has cost him dear. Like i said earlier....BIG pay cut......SHORT Contract, Not worth chancing ? , as an off the bench player ?, we've lost enough on him already, may as well take a last gamble on the fella. At a price & terms that suit us.

.....Is he giving back some of the £15m or so in wages he's had from us over the last 5 years?

Kewell can't hack it anymore for a top club. I'm not sure about his comittment either.

I'm not a Kewell basher, and in honesty, on paper £5m for Kewell at the time was a good deal. Sadly he never lived up to his Leeds days (apart from a few patches).

Who would take him? Usual suspects - Newcastle? Pompey?

not for me mate. we have four players i'd rather play ahead of him already. all he'd do is stifle a kids development.

let one of the rich medium sized clubs pay him plenty. i can't shake the feeling that it's primarily what he's interested in anyhow.

would you give back your wages if you were injured in your job?

Like **** you would. So why should it be any different for Harry?

Some people really are acting like dickheads as soon as someone mention Kewell.

If more players had the same strong mentality as him then we would win more games. If more players worked as hard as him then we would win more games.

He isn't good enough but at least he always give 100% week in week out and that is more than you can say about many other players in the team.

I think every player visit a nightclub from time to time, they can't like monks can they?

Rafa would punish him if he did something that break the rules.

Some of you need to grow up when it comes to the hate you have against some of our players.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Totally disagree with that statement. He is one of our most senior players and in my eyes he has gone missing the last few months when we needed him most. Not tracking back, avoiding tackles you name it and he is guilty of it. He has been one of the biggest dissapointments this season IMO.
                Dare we believe

I find it funny people are questioning Kewell's commitment.

Tell me, if you had experienced three major injuries like Kewell in the space of such a short time, would you still be playing football?

He could've given up and collected his 60K a week, but he chose to train as hard as ever so he could recover.

He's made a huge effort to get back on the paddock, to play for a club he loves, how about we show him some support rather than rip into him everytime he makes a comment.

Sure, if you don't think he has the ability anymore, you could voice it in a much more collected way like DS has, rather than personally attack Kewell.

                      Poor form.

Yeah I agree that there is absolutely no call for personal attacks on the lad in relation to his injuries. I mean its not his fault that his career has been blighted by constant physical issues and im sure it has wrecked harrys head as much as it has our own. That said, he has been very disappointing this season, mostly because it became apparrent to all of us that he will never be the player he once was and is no longer fit to compete at the very top level.

                        Sad but true.

I've got nothing against the guy as it's not his fault he's been plagued by a mad run of injuries, however, the bottom line is that these injuries have more or less finished him off at the very top level. We need better and can't afford to wait around hoping in vain that the old Kewell might resurface - he never will.

It's been a raw deal for Kewell, LFC and all the fans that were so excited when he signed, but that's the way it goes sometimes. Let's all just accept it and move on.

I feel cheated everytime I see him play for us.He must be rubbing his hands every week he gets paid.Loads of players come back from injuries and greed drives Kewell on.Any man would be mad to retire and miss out on all the handy money floating around these days.He has ability and shows glimpes of magic but that is all.

He should be given a free transfer and go rob some other club.

I don't get it why some people complain about Kewell, it's not like he choose to get injured. He came to liverpool for five million because he wanted to play for Liverpool, otherwise at the time he would cost twice as much, his wages although high was IMO normal for a top player.
He has always stated that he wants to stay in liverpool and he want to get free from his injuries. But injuries takes time and if kewell wasn't committed to playing for us he would have quit playing. If anyone has any doubt about this just ask any doctor. I have a friend who works as club physician for Landskrona part time and part time does research about injuries. When I talked to her about kewell and his injuries she told me that there is just a very small chance of getting back after this.
I think we all need to give him until the end of season and if he gets back to some good form and shows us what he's capable of, then that's a fantastic achievement.
Also don't forget he is the best winger we have had at the club for a very long time even if we only got to see this for a very short time.

This post clearly proves that you don't know what you are talking about at all. Kewell, greedy

He could have joined another club and earned at least £30k/week more than he do now.
