the DIC aren't going to pay over the odds because they are an investment company, therefore they wont pay much more than a company is worth because it will set a president which will make aquiring companies in the future more difficult as companies will demand more money, a bit like chelsea going for players, they wont be able to buy cheaply again.Originally posted by DJS View PostOk, this Sheik is worth what, £8 billion? If so, why dont he just chuck in an extra £100 million?
Just fecking do it Sheiky!!!

Why cant they just not disclose the full details of the deal?Originally posted by spider-neil View Postthe DIC aren't going to pay over the odds because they are an investment company, therefore they wont pay much more than a company is worth because it will set a president which will make aquiring companies in the future more difficult as companies will demand more money, a bit like chelsea going for players, they wont be able to buy cheaply again.

I think you are spot onOriginally posted by kurtangle01 View PostHicks will be the sole owner of the club by the end of this month whether we like it or not anyway.
He's a stubborn fella and DIC wont pay the money he wants so that's that, imho.
He has ideas that we'll be worth £1bn in a few years and he's basing his valuation of the club on future potential by the look of things. DIC are obviously basing their valuation on the club as it is now.
I can't see either budging from their current position and we just have to accept whatever happens unfortunately.

not sure.Originally posted by DJS View PostWhy cant they just not disclose the full details of the deal?
the MAIN question is when the bid was made, was it today or weeks ago because once the bid is made hicks has 90 days to match the bid or gillett can sell without his consent.
but worryingly if hicks DOES find the money gillett then can only sell to hicks or keep his shares in his pocket as hicks has first refusal.

It's not just about dic anymore. The MAN has spoken
As a senior partner in PCP, a London-based private equity firm, she has been instructed to lead negotiations with Tom Hicks and George Gillett Jr, the club's owners, and, according to sources, has been told by Sheikh Mohammed to “get it done”.

More from CTR....
2 weeks ago a deal was settled, but a seller attached more conditions, back to talks... and so on. But the men I talk to tell me that there is still a mood to sell up, and DIC are very determined to go 100%.
n fact, what my men tell me is a bit at variance with the press... apparently both 'sellers' are keen, but one is giving out signals and the other is silent. If what I'm told is correct, both are happy to sell, but going about their business in different ways; and the press may not have correctly identified who the stumbling block really is.Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Aint it funny how he reveals this after all the details have been in the press.
I must admit I was believing what he was saying before, but he just seems to change his story to suit what the press are saying.Nothing wrong with that, after all, that could be what is actually happening.
I just find it suprising that this "insider" is commenting on stuff that is already apparent.Forwards.......
