The situation now as I see it.
Hicks have now used his veto and that means that DIC have made a bid for Gillett's shares. That probably means that Hicks now has 90 days to find anyone that can match the bid DIC made and if he do that then Gillett has no other choice than to sell to Hicks. That is also probably the reason to why DIC is prepared to pay so much for Gillett's shares to make it more or less impossible for Hicks to find anyone in time to match DIC's bid.
It's a gamble from Hicks, who knows if it will pay off or not.
