Hicks clan behaviour on Saturday - what have we sunk to?
« on: Today at 12:40:24 PM »
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mods - not sure which Thread to put this in, so feel free to move it to somewhere more suitable but I heard some gossip out in Milan from 2 very highly placed figures at Liverpool which is worth passing on (and I sense why I was told it
).
Apparently at the Newcastle match on Saturday one of Tom Hicks sons was present with 10 to 15 mates, most of whom had never been to a football match before. After the match they "enjoyed" the hospitality on offer rather liberally with the result that:
1. At least one of his friends was sick on the boardroom floor.
2. Another one passed out totally and medical attention had to be called to revive him and ascertain that he was ok.
3. Most of the group were very rude and insulting to the waitresses, laughing at their accents, mimicing them to their faces, making a series of lewd and personal remarks, and calling them "peasants". (Although to be fair a couple of the group were very embarrassed by the majority and apologised for their behaviour saying they were overaged college boys who had never grown up).
When Moores found out about this he was absolutely livid (not surprising when you think his family had run the boardroom for over 30 years). He tried to contact Hicks Senior to complain but was unable to get through and his calls were not returned. Moores was still livid on Tuesday and was going on about the incident constantly.
Meanwhile, Ian Ayres, officially our "Marketing Director" but effectivley Hick's day to day representative at Anfield (and an utter cunt according to pretty much everyone who knows him) was also out in Milan, and enjoying a few drinks on Monday night. Possibly under the influence he was heard by many people loudly bad-mouthing Hicks AND Parry, calling them all sorts of names and declaring that they are nobodies who will soon be out of the door.
Sad times indeed.
We are owned and run by scum of the very highest order.
Shocking, if true.

Moores and Parry, surely? Why would he badmouth Hicks?
Edited. Sorry. You were right of course, I meant to write Moores.

Thats a prtetty craap non-post really isnt it? We can all think back to similar scenarios, and often it would be laughed if. Not condoning it, but I dont see the relavence to the big picture. As for Ayres, heard not impressive things before about him, but to be honest he wouldnt be the first LFC employee to be a first rate cnut, and that includes some well repected people.

Fair point RafaS. One thing I dont like is people being patronising to others, so if I'm up to that then please give me grief about it. I know we've argued in the past, heatedly as well, but thats OK when people are passionate about an issue and feel theyre POV is important. I would never presume to try to set people straight unless I have a cast iron fact, and hopefully I'd do it in a mature way. That obviously excludes Rashid, who has patronised entire sites before with his better than you attitude. Ive had enough **** from him over time to not give a toss what i say to him.To be honest I dont have any cast iron fats on this issue, and dont think many, if any, on here actually have. So, lets argue away shall we, but not call others for looking at things differently. After all weall have the same goal for the club.Originally posted by Rafa Shankly View Postdo you know what mate?your views make even more sense now that ive read your opinion on the situation as a whole
one thing i will say,and its only something that i thought so maybe im the only one who thought it.
some of the posts come across as "setting people straight" and can seem a bit patronizing, some could also be considered abuseive,so i think that might be a problem some people may have with you and steve in particular.
thats probably why certain things get said that arent really meant.
but thats by the by mate, your whole post was a good read.

He just can't agree with anyone now, he's even ****ing disagreeing with the city council, good way to get them on side for the Stadium Planning Permision, ( joke, not a conspiracy theory?).
Ok, his people say he never actually agreed to do it, sort of, and the council very politely as is the english way say, er um well maybe we jumped the gun, hmmm, I don't know, seemed to be a biggish speech by all accounts, Tesco's boss did the last one, to an audience of many thousands.
Seems a hell of a thing to 'Jump the gun on', have everything sorted ready, schedule planned out, did they not call, or his people call the council to confirm or to refuse, or was that only done the night before when he 'Pulled Out', or who called who, i suppose the council must have called his people, he couldn't have called to postpone something he had not agreed to do.
Anyway it's just another example of the magnificent people who work for these organisations, pa's & pr people, etc. & how on the ball they are.
I liked the way the council said he must be under pressure, & referred to him having added pressure.
This is some of what was said below, & this is the whole article, it's in Gillettes write up, of him actually, no really, Speaking.....with his mouth.
The Texan denied pulling out of a public appearance on the Liverpool stand at Mipim which is being staged in Cannes
He said he never agreed to address delegates at the property and investment fair.
But Liverpool council insisted the businessman was part of the schedule.
A council spokesman said: “We spoke to Tom Hicks’s office. We planned him into the schedule and fully understood when he had to withdraw because of pressure of other things, which is understandable for an international businessman of his stature with his interests.”
A spokesman for Hicks said: “Mr Hicks at no point agreed to speak, nor was he ever scheduled to speak, at the Mipim trade fair.”
Fiona McFadden, associate vice president of FD Tamesis PR, whose parent company Financial Dynamics includes Tom Hicks among its clients, said: “They were invited to come along. His name appeared on literature but we maybe jumped the gun a little bit.
“They were invited but I can’t say if they declined or accepted. It was a miscommunication. I can’t talk on behalf of his office.
