I think it's more t do with the implying of better days that have pissed most people of - myself included.

With regards to what Hicks said in the press about JK.........

It is unknown as to why they wanted to seek a replacement for Rafa - did they want a yes man or did they seriously consider the fact Rafa could leave..... IMO the former.

But also consider this, was it Rafa who originally leaked the story to the press that they were talking to JK? And if that is the case, was the intense pressure in the media, which led to Hicks confirming the talks, brought upon the club by Rafa himself?

Rafas little speech about coaching and training pre Newcastle certainley didn't help, even if it did lead to one of our better performances this season. A 3-0 win away which with an on-form Torres could have been Seven or more.

Again, we don't know for sure. Either way it doesn't excuse the owners for the way they acted, nor does it excuse them for their endless lies.

I want the Yanks out, simple as that, because whilst alot can be covered up in a PR show as just rumour-mill, the lies they came out with in press conferences can not be glossed over, and what they said upon arrival are the only facts we have to go on, along with the fact that they have failed to carry out their promises.
    Forwards.......

...can we just clear this point up for me please? The quote from Hicks was, if memory serves, something along the lines of 'we wanted to find out about how british and european football operates' , and went on to say how impressed they were with Klinsman, and that they offered him a retainer in case etc. etc. Now people can choose to believe this or not, it's up to them. But since this is one of the major points of focus for the anti american feeling, so it needs to got right. All we've got to go on is the Hicks quote, and it says nothing about wanting Rafa out. EVERYTHING else you've read or heard on the matter is either made up or speculation, yes even 'good sourcres'. no one knows, simple as that. If Hicks is making aconcerted attempted to put right the wrongs (and im not an apologist for him here) then at least we can act like we want them to act, and be civil and honest. All this alleged antagonism on Saturday is moronic in the extreme, and makes me ashamed to be honest.

Gillette's out and will not be seen again, Hicks buying his share and selling part of it on, so will still own majority. Tom Hicks loves the club and Hicks there for the long haul. Just passing stuff on so don't shoot me

                            You claim insider info.

                            How can i believe you?

Will the coming to fruition of close to 4 months of internet rumours make me believe you really know anything more than rumours on chat sites?

The Hicks camp know that we hate them so why go to Sandon, a place full of Liverpool supporters?

So is he an idiot or was it a part of the business game?
He said he wanted to talk to the fans. He wanted to put the record straight, I think he was an idiot for trying. I don't think this is a major exercise in espionage, I think he wanted to talk to the fans, which is apparently what he did. I know you want a DIC takeover, but not every action is designed to implement that. How do you reconcile their impending sale (which might happen if they get an offer stupid enough) with Hicks Jrs pronouncement that he wanted to move to Liverpool? I suppose they're just trying to scare DIC into paying over the odds?!
                              Really?

Well, it seemed like a PR exercise to me. I do, though, think some of the incidents which occured in The Sandon were pretty classless and didn't serve to aid the cause; I can appreciate the general frustration (I'm not exactly a huge fan of G&H), but I think things like spitting at people can only help perpetuate an image of drunken idiocy.

He was either naive or arrogant if believed he could "talk to the fans" or "straighten things out" and probably deserved to take a bit of stick for being so nonchalant, but I think his general intentions were, shall we say, less than pure in the main.
