Did Beacroft say it as well ??

Moores father didn't give him full control of Littlewoods, he gave him a big part of Liverpool instead, because he thought that Moores wasn't a good enough businessman.

His father was a bluenose by the way, probably laughing a bit up there on his cloud right now at our situation.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

              The same source bechance?

I wouldn't give too much credence to that station if I were you - is that the same "Beaky" that was 100% certain that owen had re-signed?

Or the same bitter Parry that's full of ****? I hate the way he tries to copy Stuart Hall with his meanderings, but just spouts pure ****e.

This story that G ha already sold seems to have been around for a bit. It was posted on RAWK and YNWA in the last 2 weeks I think? I would just like to be put out of misery one way or the other and know who is going to own our club.

Well, if Gillett have sold up, or at least agreed a price, then DIC would be doing DD right now, that would explain why Gillett or DIC isn't saying anything.

As long as DIC stay silent there is still hope IMO.

It's when Ansari is in the Echo saying we tried everything we could but we just couldn't make it happen that we need to be worried.

Hicks can stop Gillett from selling Liverpool
                        By David Bond
                        Last Updated: 7:51am GMT 29/02/2008

Tom Hicks yesterday warned Liverpool co-owner George Gillett Jr that he has the power to stop him from selling his 50 per cent stake in the club to Dubai International Capital

In comments which provide the first public insight into the breakdown of the relationship between the American businessmen, Hicks claims he will be the central figure in determining the outcome of the power struggle unfolding at Anfield.

"I'm not selling," Hicks said in an interview with Texas newspaper, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. "Not only am I not going to sell, my partner cannot sell without my approval. So I kind of have the ability to determine the outcome of what is going to happen, and I am right in the middle of that."

Hicks' latest defiant remarks come a week after he held talks in London with representatives of DIC, the investment arm of the Maktoum royal family, in London. Despite a spokesman for Hicks refusing to comment on why he was involved in those talks, Hicks issued another statement on Tuesday insisting he had no plans to sell or to open the club's books to DIC.

Gillett, on the other hand, is thought to be willing to sell up, having fallen out with Hicks over last month's £350 million, 18-month refinancing package with Royal Bank of Scotland and American bank Wachovia.

Under the terms of the original takeover deal last year, Hicks has pre-emption rights over Gillett's stake in Kop Football (Holdings) Ltd, the parent company who, in turn own Liverpool FC. That means Gillett must first offer his stake to Hicks if he finds another buyer.

Similarly, Gillett has first refusal on Hicks' stake and with the Texan billionaire still in dialogue with DIC, that could turn out to be equally crucial if he changes his public position and decides to sell.

What is not clear is whether Hicks or Gillett has the right to block the other from selling out. It is thought the pre-emption rights last for 90 days, at the end of which either could sell to a third party

Beacroft an Parry get everything wrong, their contacts on Merseyside are from the 70's! I am not saying that are wrong but they probably are!

The fact is it was Hicks who contacted DIC to sell, it was only when DIC refused to matched his £1Bn that things became sticky especially as Gillett was willing to accept... hence the posturing.

It will be scary if Hicks owns us outright but I doubt Gillett would give him that satisfaction... it will become hairy when the loan is due for renewal and Hicks knows that.

Just in case it has not already been said in this or the other monster thread... Thank you Moores and Parry!!!! You ****in buffoons!!!!

On another note, if Sheikh Maktoum is personally involved it is all over for Hicks. There is no way The Sheikh will lose out on a deal to a Neo-con Yank. No ****in way.

Hicks is such a ******. He went cap in hand to Dubai the other week to try and raise some money for his other businesses, denies he' s met anyone from DIC, and is now talking tough about not selling. He has zero credibility. How on earth did Moores get sucked in by these clowns?

The Sheikh could crush Hicks like an ant if he wants to but Hicks is probably counting on something like that, that the Sheikh will pay some stupid amount of money just to get rid of him and close the deal. DIC should start taking positions in any listed business Hicks owns and shut the ****er down once and for all.
