Hicks is not only coming across as CLASSLESS, but also clueless as to the manner business dealings should be conducted.

To come out in the media with a statement like he has smacks of a real lack of respect for the prospective buyers, the club and the way business is (generally) conducted over in this side of the World.

What are we doing with this guy hanging around our club....

Huh? I thought it was common knowledge that they walked away because Parry and Moores negotiated with Gillette AFTER a deal had already been agreed with DIC.

I think the fact that DIC are still interested shows that it wasnt the price that was the issue.

If DIC do get in then surely Parry and Moores' days are numbered at the club. More reasons to support the DIC bid!!!

What a ****in legacy Moores left.. he really deserved better and that prick Parry is the real culprit in all of this as far as I can see. I genuinely feel sorry for Moores - he has all the right intentions but was badly advised and ****ed it up big time when we were so close to getting the right deal.

You will have to ask Moores that, probably the worst Chairman in our history and that includes Gillett and Hicks.

Sold the club without doing any check up at all. Even I would have checked them up better in five minutes than Moores did.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Just listening to The Guardian podcast and they're saying that Hicks is looking at buying Roma when he manages to free himself from the mess at Liverpool. That might suit him more - individual TV deals etc.

Italian teams don't sell to foreigners and Sensi isn't stupid enough selling up to someone like Hicks.

Both own liverpool 50-50 yeah, so if GG wants to get out and dilute his share ofcourse by selling it, if Hicks cant afford it and is in no way to arrange that sort of sum to pay of GG then what options does GG have since hicks has said that he wont let GG sell his portion of share and he needs hicks approval.

This all looks like a mess and everyday we hear contradictory reports dont know what to believe.
I dont believe Hicks has the power to veto a sale of Gilletts share

He might have pre-emption rights (first option) but not outright veto

His father was a bluenose by the way, probably laughing a bit up there on his cloud right now at our situation.
Moores actually inherited his LFC shares off his father AND his uncle

However he increased his holding to 51% by underwriting a £17 million share option that went to pay for the building of the Centennary Stand

Take up was so small he increased his stake from 35% (if I remember correctly) to 51% and a bit

                    The latest from RAWK

This is indeed turbulent as suggested a while back by CTR.

I would imagine that between them, Gillett, Moores, Parry and DIC will not allow Hicks to take over the club.

If DIC do succeed in buying out Gillett's 50% it will be all over for Hicks over a matter of time, as he will be systematically diluted with the Board authorizing more and more funds that DIC will put up and acquire more equity as a result.

Hicks' PR efforts have stumbled again, and with the latest revelations of his admission that he's effectively holding the club to ransom there will never be any turning back for the fans, not that there was much chance of that beforehand anyway.

Another weapon Gillett, Moores and Parry have up their sleeve is a PR campaign of their own if going nuclear was the only option to get rid of Hicks.

In other words they could come out publicly and say he's no good for the club. Gillett could turn the screw by publicly saying it's clear that neither of them have the financial clout or know-how to run the club and that Hicks' ideas (which they vehemently disagree about) will ruin the club permanently.

Now, I'm not painting Gillett as the good guy here - without him we wouldn't be in this sorry mess in the first place - however, I do get a sense that over his dead body would he sell to Hicks, and I do get a feeling that he wants to do the right thing (though I doubt whether that means he'd sacrifice any profits along the way).

One way to arrange this is to price Hicks out of the market by selling his share to DIC at a ludicrous price that Hicks can't match and invest the surplus in a DIC vehicle afterwards, thereby effectively matching DIC's more realistic valuation.

The question then is if Hicks has Tag-along rights whereby he can sell to DIC at the same price.

Lots of unknowns, but as I said earlier, a very well connected source told me that DIC will conduct due diligence next week and Hicks will be down to 40% shortly after, meaning it's the beginning of the end for him.

My only other comment is that he must be a most unpleasant man for doing what he's doing, and how he's riding roughshod over so many people's hopes, dreams and wishes for a diamond institution like LFC.

Marcotti has excellent sources in Italy. If he says Hicks is looking into buying Roma then you can be sure theres something in it. Whether or not Sensi would sell is another matter entierly. What I would say is everyone has their price...

My mistake, I got the Times and the Guardian mixed up.

Although Richardson is very well connected in Italy also.

The last time this stuff came about Hicks/Roma - Sensi said he would NEVER SELL TO AMERICANS.

Well, the Roma rumour about that someone was about to launch a takeover bid resurfaced last week but Sensi said that he wouldn't sell up and that the club now is debt free and in good health.
