When i got up & saw this on tv, just the ceefax text, was still in bed to be honest, I thought YES, it's happeneing, public quotes from dic etc, bid tabled, NOW though i'm back down to earth with a BANG. The more i read & hear the more it seems Hick's is here to stay. THE ******.

            Nothing really new.

Gillett have agreed a deal with DIC but Hicks is stopping the deal going through, we knew that, and Hicks is still living in dreamland.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

DIC are just turning the screw. they wouldnt have said it unless they thought they'd get away with it. they have got gillett in the bag and are just saying that hicks is not budging. i don't think its personal at all and hicks is just sticking to a high valuation to eek out as much profit as possible. if it shifts a deal price from 400 - 420 mill then its worth the poker face no?

either that or DIC are imminently about to walk away for good...

bottom line is that lfc, mortgaged to the hilt as we are currently is an utterly sh1t investment. high risk for fook all return. hicks wants to sell and dic are one of the few possible purchasers as they can easily sort out our financial structure to allow us to breathe properly in order to move forward - i.e. they are one of the few3 that can turn us into that 1billion assett. so because we a sh1t investment as above, i just cannot see another party genuinely interested in buying us from the yanks. this hicks will know and strengthen's dics hand massively. this private placement that hicks is going on about is all well and good, but i think its just a last ditch bluff. all of his teams are debt laden and none are top performers so who in their right mind would want to plough 200 mill into that? there's a reason why no-one wants to buy us and hicks knows only too well how bad we are.

hicks is just playing hardball and now going public with the dreamland statement, dic are too. its coming to a close and dic hold the cards. hicks can basically only go kamikaze if he doesnt do the deal.

hicks has to sell and dic are the only people interested in buying him out. it'll happen.

Some of us never KNEW that, we had heard plenty, but DIC have now CONFIRMED it, which is a source i'm willing to trust. And there must be something behind the statement, going public.

Is having first refusal as meaningless as it is in the transfer market?

In other words, if Hicks offered Gillett two chocolate bars for his shares, can't he simply opt to sell them to DIC for 2 chocolate bars and a packet of sweets?
I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. And I can picture us attacking that world, because they'd never expect it.

Deal is extremely unlikely in my opinion.
excellent point, never thought of it like that.

I imagine DIC can go on raising their bid until Thicks can no longer afford (or be willing) to match it... whether they will or not is another matter

The 400 million pound price is strange given that of the 350 million refinance 105 of it is for the stadium development and player transfers so why would DIC pay for money that hasnt been drawn as yet?

what about the momo cash? and the $ left over from summer? its doubtful they would handover 18 mill all in one go to AF.
