Personally i think DIC are fed up at Hicks refusing to budge on his value of the club so as a last throw of the dice before walking away have offered £400 million take it or leave it offer.

That's exactly how I see it.

What i dont get though, is that everyone knows Hicks is after more than that. Why would they bid £400m with the knowledge that he wont budge on his valuation?

The only thing they care about is, money, not the fans, reputation or long term. They want to make as big profit they can in the shortest amount of time.

They won't care if we finish 17th or 1st if they can make a quicker and better profit if we finish 17th.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Maybe they underestimated what a deluded ****wit he is.

Maybe cos they have to spend a ****load on building the stadium and transfers while its being built to keep us competitive. giving into hicks sets a dangerous precedent for dic as a business and LFC as an asset may not be important enough for them.

If this deadline rumour is true, then i feel it's the END of Dic's interest, for atleast a few years, maybe for good. They dont do that unless all possibilities have been exhausted, how will they look if they are still haggling with Hicks after the deadline expires.

If the deadline passes then they'll be gone.

No, what i meant was, if it's common knowledge that he wont budge on his valuation, what's the point in making an offer that's so obviously lower than his valuation?

Maybe, Hicks is just one good sharemarket crash away from financial disaster.

Oh I get you. Yes it seems a bit pointless.

Hicks saying that reports that he has raised the funds are 'premature' is certainly a softening of his stance from the last day or so when he was briefing that they were in place.

His choice now is pretty simple. Take the DIC money and run or gamble on successfully raising the funds in the future. Either way, it seems Gillett wants out, so someone has to pay for them.

DIC are simply narrowing his options and presenting him with a stark choice. What his decision will be is anyone's guess

Maybe just to prove to us fans that they tried everything. Without people then saying when they pull out things like 'how serious were they, did they even bid'. Also to prove Hicks DID have a profitable offer on the table.

Well it's common knowledge that he says he won't budge. That could just as easily be a bargaining position as anything else.

Guess we'll know for sure by tomorrow
