Standard hard nose bargaining would be to start at a valuation you know is way too high and then barter to get as close to it as you possibly can. You can bet that Hicks knows he isn't going to get anywhere near the initial figure he's put on the table.

thats the way i see it too. **** it, would love to wake up tomorrow and it would all be over. DIC own liverpool please

I just hope to God that Hicks sees sense and sells up. A defining day in our history/future beckons.

The time has come where they have stopped leaking snippets through the press and now DIC have had enough of waiting about and are purely letting Hicks know that if he wants to sell Liverpool this is his last opportunity in the short term to do so.

Hicks can not afford us and it seems he is struggling to get the finance from elsewhere to do so (although i do think he is close to due to him saying talks are premature on that front).

As its been posted Hicks is one financial crash in the market away from disaster, DIC are not.

Ending as it usually does whenever I watch Liverpool. In disappointment

Hicks holds on, buys out Gillet, can't service the debts without savaging the squad, we go in to terminal decline or bust.

                  or

It all sorts itself out in the end.

                  Who knows?

Well he said only last week that he hadnt been in talks with DIC nor would he be

                    Today thats been proven false

He also said he wouldnt be selling

The fact hes put a price on his shares (all be it unrealistic) indicates a willingness to sell

'Premature' could mean 'I haven't yet but I will' or 'I can't, but I am not about to admit that yet'

He's hardly going to weaken his position by laying his cards on the table, no matter how strong or weak they are

That's what i was saying before. If DIC went to £450m, i think he'd crack.

Anybody know how long Hicks has first option on Gillett's shares? If DIC have offered 200million for GG's half how long would Hicks get to raise the cash to match the offer?

Also, on that note, if GG agrees to sell, and Hicks can't match DIC's offer, but won't sell his own shares, would DIC settle for 50% control? Or is their offer only for 100% of the club?
