DIC latest - the largely wild speculation thread

    My guess - DIC made a bid with a deadline of midnight tonight, as Barrett reported. Hicks now realises that the game's up (hence his quote that talk of him raising the funds to buy the club outright were "premature"), and has indicated to DIC that he is finally ready to negotiate a deal. Knowing that they are going to be successful in their bid, DIC withdraw their ultimatum to allow time to properly negotiate on a deal. All to be concluded in the next two days.

    Anyone else?

              Still nowhere near enough details given on any matter to have anything like an educated guess.

              At least down here we can sleep through most of this and wake up when more has been done.

              I also hope people are realistic in what they expect from DIC (if they are successful) and that we are not back here in 12 months or so

                I wonder if Hicks' option to block Gillette's shares runs out tonight. Maybe he only has until tonight to find themoney to buy Gillette's shares and therfore block DIC from getting them?

                    I dont think thats likely as DIC will not buy GGs stake unless they have a guarantee that Hucks is willing to sell too. They are only interested in full contol of the club.

                              Hicks' behaviour over the past few months leads me to think he's not a man that really gives a **** about saving face.

                              Fans of his teams in Amercia hate him too - he couldnt care less.

                                I'm no accountant so can someona clarify, to table an offer will DIC have already had access to the books? if this is the case then Hicks stance that he's not willing to sell must be nonsense
