It's clear that Hicks would love DIC to come in and pump some money in, because Hicks and Gillet don't have the capital required to get the club to a state where it would be worth a higher value. They have tried everyone they know and talks were only just completed due to them not wanting to risk to much of their own assets.
They want to sell now, but they think they can squeeze DIC for more cash. They're playing poker and risk losing DIC for good. Without an interested party they would struggle with a further re-financing of teh club.
