A DIC source has revealed that Tom Hicks will NOT oppose the sale of Gillets shares to DIC.

Hicks to meet with DIC early next week. Gillets shares could be secured as early as the weekend.

The only positive I can think of with Hicks staying for a period of time is the stadium - we may hate him but both of the stadium designs were impressive (IMO) and I hope Hicks and DIC could work towards the initial design of the HKS stadium.That should mean 1) no groundshare and 2) building work to start right away as it has planning permission already.

Yesterday it seemed this saga could drag on forever, with no idea on how long Hicks had to come up with the cash to match the DIC bid for Gillets shares.

The fact that he has now removed this barrier has drasticly brought forward the timescale. Hicks was saying te other day that stories of him having secured the cash to buy out Gillet were premature. My idea is that he never had the intention of buying out Gillet. He would have known he didn't have the cash.

But he helped raise the price slightly so job done.
