So all he'd say is that 'if i believed in a committee system, there would be no problem with a fan representative, but in my experience, such a system is not the best way' and that'd be that. I dont think you'd catch him out by getting a fans rep to request a seat on the board.

Face facts people, Hicks holds all the aces at the moment, and DIC/"alleged sources" will do their utmost to further discredit him (although judging by some of the xenophobic posting on here/RAWK/YNWA, i don't think the man can be viewed in any worse light) at every turn.

Oh, i've got no problems with people hating the man, but the constant need to emphasise the fact that he and Gillett are American makes a lot of posters on this, and other, forums appear extremely xenophobic in their views. Hate the man for who he is and what he appears to represent by all means, but just leave out the american/yank prefix.

It's the same as if, for example, i called Frank Bruno a cunt...ok, that's fine, but if i then called him a black cunt it all of a sudden has a racist overtone. Or Gerard Houllier...call him a prick and no one cares, cacll him a French prick, and it takes a different connotation.

hi, have been reading this thread for awhile now and theres something that i'm curious about. what about the banks that have loaned the money to buy the club in the first place, whats their take on it? from their point of view, any involement from DIC must be a plus with regards paying back the loan and future securities. i wonder do they have any conditions/penalties in the contract with the yanks when they gave out the loan with regards futher investments/takeovers?

Seriously though, I don't think that banners like "Yanks Out" are intended in any way to imply that the fans don't want Americans in the club, just that our current owners have picked up this label through the press etc. and it seems like the most common form of reference to them at the minute. I'd say it was more similar to calling McLaren a "ginger prick" than the example you gave, in terms of severity.

I hadn't really considered this though, and it's interesting to hear your take on it. Fingers crossed we won't have to put up with and of it much longer.
