Can I just suggest that you make this a sticky - or dare I say it - it's own forum?

This saga is not going to resolve anytime soon, and at this crucial stage of the season (the Run-In) it could be a good idea to make a sub-forum to cover the many aspects of this subject, without deflecting on the big games coming up.

I think he will. I think he is beginning to understand th liverpool way. However, he will not shut up when it comes to DIC/the bitch briefing the press. He will shoot down each of the lies and misrepresentations.

hes the owner,and no matter how pissed off he is at DIC he should have known better than to release a statement such as the one the other day on the eve of the most important game of our season.

Tom Hicks emails expose Liverpool breakdown

The full extent of the breakdown in relations between Liverpool's American owners has been revealed in a series of extraordinary emails sent to a small number of the club's fans by Tom Hicks.

A day after Hicks broke off negotiations on a partnership deal with Dubai International Capital, the correspondence underlines the Dallas businessman's determination to stop George Gillett selling his shares to DIC.

In the emails, Hicks blames Gillett for the calamitous PR own-goal of approaching Jurgen Klinsmann as a replacement for manager Rafa Benitez last November before going on to criticise him for holding the club back.

"I have a large investment and plan to make a bigger one," Hicks told one fan in an email, later published on the internet. "Gillett has held us back financially, but that will change. In the end, one person must have responsibility for making decisions. It has been very difficult for George and me to agree on things (Klinsmann) and DIC wanted their people to have an equal vote on things like keeping Rafa (I will), signing players and managing the business.

"The club has not been run very well for a long time now. I intend to fix the problems."

In another email, Hicks writes: "I have taken huge risks because I believe our club can be the best in the world again.

"Gillett knew Klinsmann from Vail [Colorado]. In hindsight, it was a big mistake, but I have publicly, and privately, backed Rafa since our meeting December 16th.

"The finances will be fine. We are playing much better. DIC has been playing the press like a drum. Our new stadium will be the best in the world."

Hicks' exchanges with fans are part of a new charm offensive to persuade supporters to drop their opposition to his long-term ambitions to remain in charge at Anfield.

However, fans' groups have expressed their anger at Hicks' decision to call off talks with DIC as they closed in on a £170 million deal with Gillett for his 50 per cent stake. Hicks says he has the power to block the sale.

Les Lawson, secretary of the Liverpool Supporters' Association, said: "As far as I'm concerned, there is no way Hicks and Gillett are going to win back the trust of the supporters."

hicks is a proven liar and has handled us so badly its untrue
his last refinancing loan (350 mil) was just another short term high interest safe hold whilst securing our sale, hardly the sort of thing that makes me want him to stay.

id like to believe him when he says that he wants to make us great again but his words are hollow.

he has neither the funds nor the integrit to own our great club, points of which have been proved on several occasions, so unless he has mr kraft or wild bill gates up his sleeve the sooner the deal with dic (real supporters) is done the better

rash, you seem to be confusing gillett and hicks with just hicks.

What id it really is gillett thats been holding hicks back, after all it was hicks who was the money man. perhaps Hicks does see an opportunity that he invests heavily he will get a good return in a few years. After all he has brought us a great stadium design and managed to borrow money to get masher, torres etc

Perhaps Hicks sees through dic as much as moores and parry did. perhaps we are all backing the wrong horse. ok he is a loudmouth and very brash, but then the saudis think they can just walk all over people due to there terrific wealth.

Maybe DIC will run LFC even more like a business, maybe they will be truly succesfull, maybe after 1 season of failure they may sack rafa and bring maureen in.

I dont know Liverpools finances inside out, and ok scum do have a bigger turnover....but rewind 3/4 years when glazier came in it was all doom and gloom, oh how we laughed at the fact that there club was 700 million in debt and how we gloated reading in the papers that scum were going to go bust and it was an impossible business model.....somehow all that scaremongering was quite frankly bollocks!!!

Does Hicks deserve a chance to try it alone, what happens if he does bring a really, really, really rich benefactor in? will he be still a pariah in lfc?
