Positives from the season so far.

Okay I see that there are alot of disgruntled reds on here today and it's understandable after picking up only 4 points from 4 games.

Last season we had a similar slow start and after 6 games found ourselves with only 8 points. 1 win and 5 draws. What a disaster that was and to some of us it felt like it would be a long season.

This season has started in a similar fashion and we're only 4 games in but we have two very winable home games coming up in the next 7 days. Win those and that's 10 points from six games. That's a better start than last season.

Our squad this season is also better and as the season progresses we'll see some of the new lads settling in well.

Despite what Andy Gray would have you believe we are not out of the title race already and wouldn't have been even if Arsenal had lost at Old Toilet today. We're very much still in the title race and with us having the mancs and the arse to play twice and the chavs to play at home and another 102 points to play for then anything can happen. And lets not forget that they all have to play one another throughout the season.

I think this must be one of the first times in recent season that all of the main title contenders have lost by the middle of September and that bodes well for us in the coming months.

I feel sorry for Newcastle on Wednesday because they are going to come up against a Liverpool side that has a point to prove.

    Keep your chins up.

All is not lost and the season has a long way to go with a few twists and turns to happen along the way!

Nice to see an optimistic viewpoint. I know we have 2 homes games coming up but I just can't see the problems we seem to have dissapearing in a week. Something is not right and I can't put my finger on it. But seen as this is a positive thread I will be positive and go with a well earned but hard fought 6 points against the barcodes and spurs!!
    Dare we believe

the only thing that doesn't seem right is converting our chances and its not like the players missing them are bad at it by the contrast they're renound for it.

Its just like Simon say's its like last year, we go through bad patch's.
Start of last season if it wasn't for Stevie we'd of been worse off still. Yet if he had converted just one of the chances last couple of match's we'd of been biggin up our PL chances.
Before the CL match against Benfica we were going thro a barren spell.

Start of the season we'd look at these last 2 of match's not as ones we should win but ones we'd love to win, inc Neverton away on a good run.
2 away games against an old rival and a team that hasn't lost at home in years and we came away with the most chances on goal. This after an international break.

The season starts on Wed IMO.
4 games and we've only played 1 home match.
Lets get our singing voices ready for the barcodes.
Its times like these we learn to live again FF

Ok, but seriously positives so far:

          1) Daniel Agger doing a reasonable impression of Alan Hansen in his pomp.
          2) Dirky - ok he hasn't scored yet but he looks the real deal.
          3) Qualifying for the group stages of champs league.
          4) Good away point in first game of the above.
          5) First trophy in the bag.

Also, we win our game in hand, which we will, its newcastle at home. We will only be 6 pts off the top. not bad considering weve had a bit of a false start. Nothing has convinced me yet that we wont win the league. I KNOW we will.I havent seen many other teams create as many clear cut chances as we did against chelsea today

Think it's 5, may be wrong, but either way clearly it's not all doom and gloom for us

we`ve played one home game 2 of our most difficult away games are done with we are creating chances so despite what pricks like andy gray say we are far from out of any race if so does that mean pompey are in the title race?
