    Skrtel Injury Gives Rafa Headache

    SKRTEL INJURY GIVES RAFA HEADACHE
    Jimmy Rice 14 February 2008

Martin Skrtel is a major doubt for this weekend's FA Cup clash with Barnsley after picking up a calf injury in training.

The news comes as a blow to Rafa Benitez, who will now have to decide whether to risk the returning Sami Hyypia.

With Daniel Agger still recovering from a metatarsal injury, it could also mean a place in the squad for Spanish starlet Mikel San Jose, who was on the bench at Chelsea last Sunday.

Just about to post that - lucky only a couple of hours it came out that Hyppia should be OK to play

Wondered if Hyppia wasn't going to make it if San Jose could start but more likely that he would bring Aroloa inside as he is back too

                Seemingly so

Spanish kid signed last summer I think, centre half who has been playing regularly for the reserves. Needs to bulk up a bit but looks like a decent player

The youngster, who penned a three-year deal at Anfield, helped lead Spain to UEFA Under-19 Championship glory in July 2007.

On arriving in Merseyside, San Jose said: "It was a surprise for me but I have decided to accept the chance at Liverpool. I am very excited but now I know that I have to work more each day to get in the first team."

Thanks Dee. Will look out for him in the reserves from now on.

Didn't realise he was on the bench on Sun, and I was at that game an all.
